This is another one I often have to divide up into romance/adult books versus YA. However this year I was able to just pick one list of approximately 10, again in no particular order. I will link to one of my reviews of their books too.
This was my first book by Solani Dev, and I really liked it. You can check out my review of this one HERE.
I’ve wanted to read Michelle Dayton for a while and finally was able to fit a book review as part of a blog tour in. I really liked this one and hope to have time for more books in the future. HERE is a link to my review of this one for you.
While I had read Evie Alexander before, this was my first chance to read Kelly Kay. I enjoyed her story in this book, as well as others in this series throughout this year as well as another anthology. You can read my review of this one HERE.
I guess Ali Hazelwood really only had one book out before this year anyway, but I was behind on getting around to this first one, and have now read all of her books in one year. But I was blown away and read this one in one day! You can read my review of it HERE.
So I’ve seen Katee Robert’s name around a lot. And this was a series I wasn’t sure about. But the author gave away a free copy of the audiobook and when I listened to it I was hooked! Now I need to read more and more! HERE is my review of this one.
So Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians series has been everywhere, especially over on TikTok. I bought the first one, not thinking I’d do more than get a fun laugh out of it. Oh how I was wrong. The book was hot, and not only that, it had me hooked! I really want to know the other name this author writes under, as I’ve heard she has a traditional publishing career that is pretty famous. But anyway, I’m hooked and you can read my review of this one HERE.
I’d been seeing a lot of tours for Sarah Ready but just never seemed to have time to fit one in. I did get this at the beginning of the year and really enjoyed it! Can’t wait to read more, in fact will be reading a sequel to this pretty soon! You can read my review of this one HERE.
John Scalzi was an author I’d seen his books on the shelves when I worked at the bookstore and I’d always wanted to try. When I saw people going on and on about this one on their blogs, and then I saw the audio was narrated by Wil Wheaton, who I loved doing the Ernest Cline books and of course had a crush on when I was a teenager, so I got this one. And I LOVED it! You can read my gushing review HERE.
Lucy Score is another author I’ve seen the name around a lot. I got this audiobook, I think on an Audible sale. I really enjoyed it, and now I look forward to reading more by this author in the future. HERE is my review of this one.
I believe this is Amanda Pennington’s first with Book Smart, as part of the SmartyPants Romance line. So not only is she new to me, she is a new author. I don’t know if she’ll have more in the SPR future, but I look forward to any more by her! You can read this review HERE.

Ruby Dixon is a great author to read. I love her Ice Planet Barbarians series and the Icehome which is same planet just more characters added. Great picks.
I was hooked right away, so need to read them all! Glad to hear they are all good.
I have not read a book by Lucy Score either, but I’ve heard so many good things about her books.
I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to more!
I’ve only read this one Ali Hazelwood, but it blew me away so now I’ll read the three novellas next and eventually get back to her first one. Yes, Ice Planet Barbarians was a fun surprise for me, too.
I love that Wil Wheaton narrates John Scalzi’s books. I’ve listened to several and like his writing style.
Yeah, I think I’m a fan for sure of Scalzi now!
Awesome. The Love Hypothesis was a favorite of mine last year. I love Sonali Dev and I haven’t read this one. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the John Scalzi; I like him but haven’t read this one.
The Kaiju Preservation Society was soooooo good! Definitely listen to it in my opinion.
John Scalzi is one of my favorite authors! Definitely listen to more of his books. They are all pretty great! Sonali Dev and Ali Hazelwood are great as well.
I’ve got several more that I got on sale from Audible, so I will for sure be listening to more of his.
I want to give Ice Planet Barbarians a try sometime. Awesome list, Lisa!
It’s definitely a romance, but a lot of fun with the alien aspect!
I’ve only read a few of these authors, but they are great ones!
You should try some of the others if you get a chance!
