Only bad nannies know what it’s like…to kiss the boss.

CEO millionaire, Max Fletcher is a single dad in desperate need of a nanny.

Cozy Barlow is in the middle of her self-appointed “gap year” and doing everything she can to detach from her past.

But when her sister begs her to interview for the nanny position of a high maintenance client, she doesn’t have a good enough reason to say no.

And when Max locks eyes on the twenty-something in a tie-dye sweatsuit who pitches the idea of daydreaming all summer—he prepares to give this bad nanny the boot.

One problem: Max’s little girl thinks this plus-sized in body and spirit nanny might be her new bestie, so she hires her on the spot.

Now Max is stuck with this bizarre woman who hates everything he represents—corporate greed, money, status, power.

But one stormy night when the power goes out, he discovers Cozy doesn’t hate him. In fact, he’s the leading role in her fantasies.

Fantasies, he would very much like to make a reality.

Excerpt

“Max, I’m going to bed,” Cassandra groans, pulling her cotton robe tightly across her chest as she steps outside and leans against the side of the house. “Let’s just forget this horrible evening ever happened.”

“I can’t forget,” I bark, pointing at my head like a lunatic as I continue to pace. “Because I have a daughter. And knowing that she could grow up someday and have messed-up thoughts about her physical appearance will never be something I’m okay with.”

Cassandra’s brows knit together. “What?”

“What you said about me throwing you over my shoulder earlier? First of all…I could do that. Feel free to challenge me on that. I love a challenge.” I turn on my heel to march the other way. “But second of all, who cares if I couldn’t? Do you think that makes you any less worthy of someone? It doesn’t. It’s a superficial nothingburger of a thing. It tells nothing about the person you are or the beauty you possess.”

I pause to prop my hands on my hips, hitting her with a lethal glare before I deliver the next bit. Her lips are parted, her eyes are wide and glistening in the security light as she falls back against the white siding.

She looks like an angel.

“Third of all, you are not now, nor could you ever be a convenience hook up. In fact, you are the most inconvenient hook up of my life. Which is why I need you to hear the next part.”

“There’s more?” she gasps, her fingers touching her parted lips.

“A lot more, Cassandra,” I growl, my voice echoing off the house as I stalk toward her…

My Review

I loved Cozy right from the start! This was a perfect addition to the series, even if it is now finished. Although I have questions about that at the end of my review, so stay tuned.

I love the model used in these promo images for Cozy. Seeing these before I really got too far into the story was perfect for helping me picture exactly what Cozy was like. Even as a big girl myself, I know I have trouble imagining that the women in stories (even when they are supposed to be bigger girls) are anything other than what society usually considers to have a perfect body. Now Daws always does a great job at writing whatever size of heroin the story calls for, but something about seeing a picture helped my imagination to take that step and be real.

Cozy had such a different back story, one that I was not expecting when she told the story. It was original, in my opinion anyway, but realistic for sure! And then there was Max. I loved him, how he dealt with his ex-wife, and what a wonderful dad he was. I mean this is a billionaire romance for sure, and an older man story, both ones that don’t always grab me, but the way this author wrote them was perfection. I loved the way the two figured it all out, that even though they had their entirely reasonable and appropriate apprehensions about starting anything with the other one, they let things play out in a way that was realistic to me. Even the drama parts weren’t over the top dramatic in a way that would irritate me, again, they were realistic and written to make the story flow in a way that I couldn’t put it down.

As usual, the author’s humor makes the story as well. I always learn some kind of new word or phrase it seems when I read her books. This time around it was “Zaddy” and FUPA. Be careful about looking that second one up. Cozy’s clumsiness is cute, and of course I love the way she shares stories about Everly with her father. And then there was the list of “kinks” that they kept. That was fun as well. Oh yeah, and even though I’m personally not a Fifty Shades fan, the different ways Cozy kept feeling the book in her life made me crack up.

Now, back to the end of the series issues. We start this book off right away with extra characters that as we got to know them a little more throughout the book I know I need them to get their own HEA. Like Max’s brothers. And Cozy’s best friend Dakota. Amy Daws, are you listening to my request? Pretty please?

Amy Daws is one of my auto-buy/read authors. I highly recommend her! The first in the Harris brothers series is one of my favorite too.
