Blurb:

I didn’t plan to marry a reclusive heiress. Lucky for me, I find myself attracted to my beautiful new bride. Our arranged marriage connects two powerful companies. That we’re compatible between the sheets is a bonus, but I didn’t bargain on her ex showing up at the wedding reception uninvited.

That pushed me right over the edge.

I protect what’s mine, and Charlotte is now mine, whether she likes it or not. Our honeymoon is a disaster in paradise. I’m angry. She’s resentful. All those swirling emotions explode in the most physical ways.

But even as I’m drawn closer to my new wife, there’s still a threat looming out there. Seamus McTiernan is determined to destroy what we’ve created.

I won’t let anything tear us apart.

He has no idea who he’s dealing with. I will end him.

Watch me.

Welcome to the Midnight Dynasty… The warring Morelli and Constantine families have enough bad blood to fill an ocean, and their brand new stories will be told by your favorite dangerous romance authors.

My Review

So the first book, The Reluctant Bride, ended with a cliffhanger, and so I had to be on the edge of my seat waiting for this one. I’m not really a mafia romance reader, but because I enjoy other books by this author I’ve been reading this series.

Like the first book, this was a quick read. It really only takes place with the wedding as well as the honeymoon, with a day or two back from that. And also like the first one, it ends on a cliffhanger.

So not to give too much away if you haven’t read the first one, but someone showed up at the end of the first one, and it takes the little bit of trust and possibly understanding that Charlotte and Perry had come to that night before the wedding and tears it apart. More so for Perry as he now doesn’t know if he can trust Charlotte. Which irritated me, because how could he think anything different based on what she’d told him of her affair in Paris? But as these are mafia type of families, I guess it only makes sense that he might see it was something not to trust.

This one was also really steamy, and there were some very risque moments in the story, but hey, it’s all good and like I said, made the story steamy to read. So know that going in. And know that I’ll be waiting for the third and I believe final part of this story, The Reckless Union, and for Perry and Charlotte to get their own happily ever after.

Yeah, I’m not really a mafia type of story reader usually, but these are short and pretty easy to get through.
