Blurb:

Would you share a bed with your enemy to save Christmas?

Down with a bad case of writer’s block, Riven has escaped to a mountain cabin for a prolonged writing retreat. The last thing he needs this Christmas is for his family to invade his sanctuary away from LA. What he needs even less is for a family of strangers as large and boisterous as his own to also be stuck in the same house after a double-booking disaster.

Especially when he ends up having to share a bunk bed with Wendy—a gorgeous, feisty New Yorker who quickly learns how to get under his skin.

Sharing a room with her is sweet torture and Riven isn’t even sure what he dreads more: that every passing day brings them closer to saying goodbye or that they have yet another night to spend together…

My Review

So I read and loved the first book in this little series, Fool Me Twice At Christmas, but somehow I didn’t get signed up for the tour for book two, I think my blog schedule was full. But I was excited to jump back in for book three. And really, the books are all completely standalones, none of the characters are from any of the other books as far as I can tell.

This one was really cute as well! I liked the forced proximity, but man, that many people in that small of a space? And having to share a room with bunk beds with the hot guy? That was definitely a new one. However I really liked the families’ interactions, and I thought that Riven and Wendy were perfect for each other with their similar careers in writing, as well as their close families.

When Christmas was about over and I knew that the two were going to have to go their separate ways, it made me wonder how the author would keep them together, or get them together again, since technically, Wendy was still with her boyfriend. The incident that solved that issue, or should I say complicated the issue was not one I saw coming! Especially the extent of what happened. It was the perfect way to solve the boyfriend issue.

Yet another surprising incident was how Riven got Wendy to finally get out of her funk after the breakup. That was hilarious, and fun as well. Now there was the whole overhearing something that wasn’t meant the way it sounded that usually does frustrate me in stories, but I feel that the way Wendy dealt with it made how the big separation happened make perfect, yet sad sense. And in the end, Riven’s way of trying to win Wendy back was perfect. I loved it!
