Puck Shy by Teagan Hunter is now live!
I’m having the definition of a bad year.
Game Six loss costing my team the Cup? Check.
Getting arrested and ruining my image? Check.
Almost getting run over after my car breaks down? Oh, look–a hat trick.
My contract is up with the Carolina Comets this year, and I need to get it together if I want to stay with the team.
I need relaxation, not a relationship.
But when I’m scrolling on a dating app and stumble across the pretty girl who almost ran me over, I know I can’t let her walk away this time.
Harper is funny, smart, and doesn’t care about hockey.
I’m not supposed to be focusing on anything other than my career, yet I can’t get Harper off my mind.
I know I shouldn’t fall for her…but I think I already have.

I picked this one up and could NOT put it down! I loved everything about the relationship between these two. The meet-cute was perfect, and their connection was perfect. I definitely think he should have told her who he was as soon as they matched. I mean he should have already known better about her even from their one meeting. But the way it all fell into place was perfect. I also got mad at her for what happened. But I love the way she went about trying to win him back at that point in the story.
I haven’t finished the Texting series by this author yet, but I recognized the name Shep, Collin’s agent, as the guy we kind of hated in the first book of that series. But I did know he got a book to redeem him in that series, and now I’m even more eager to go back and finish those books so I can fall in love with him, because he was definitely likable in this story!
Harper’s art was so much fun, and I loved her passion for horror movies. This book being released right before Halloween was perfect for this story. Oh, and her friend’s exhibit where people recorded things they wanted to say to someone and then she took pictures of their faces as they listened to it? Wow! What a neat idea! And it fit into the story so smoothly and perfectly to take that next plot point in such an original way!
I think I have a new hockey team to fall in love with, and can’t wait for the next book!
