Weekly Wrap-Up #21

Once again I’ll be linking this up with the Sunday Post (hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer).

This week was a little bit more relaxed. No big emergencies for me. Although my next door neighbors had to get their air conditioner replaced, and then on Wednesday, a car rolled down the hill from the salon parking lot across the street and through their fence into their backyard. Their poor dogs can’t just go run in the yard, they have to take them out on leashes until they get it fixed. And I know my Argyle is missing his time to run back and forth at the fence and bark at one of their dogs, Yoshi, that is his buddy.

Oh yeah, have I shared my find at a new Flea Market/antique store from a few weeks ago?

Weather wise here it has been so hot! We’ve been really close to 100, definitely at the feels like 100 with the humidity.

My reading schedule has been a little easier this week since I had one book finished last week and the other changed to last week. Still read 4 books this week, and finished an audiobook.

New Books:

I purchased two books I found at Half-Price Books.

I haven’t read this Christina Lauren yet, but of course I want to. And then the other one I also haven’t read, but it is by a local author, so I’m excited to read it!

E-galleys for review:

Reading the first one as I post this. The second one I would have gotten soon as part of the author’s ARC team, but since it was available on Netgalley now, I went ahead and downloaded it. The third is an author I used to read all the time, but haven’t in a while. The publisher reached out and offered me a digital galley. It doesn’t come out till the end of this year though, so it will be a while before I start it.

Free e-books:

Last week’s posts:

  1. Your poor neighbors! Nothing like a car rolling through your yard. YIKES! I grabbed the Quinn book too. Couldn’t resist. Hope it’s good for both of us

Yeah, it sucks for them and their dogs that usually just get to roam the backyard. I’m sure I’ll adore the Quinn book, I always seem to!

  2. I am thrilled to have a fenced in yard for our girl Lulu. I’m finding it doesn’t matter too much while we have been doing the sod project. She loves the new grass. But even with the gates open she stays with us.

Enjoy your new reads! I can’t go to Half Price books as they don’t have them here but when I did I’d come away with bags of books.

We are too close to a couple of very busy roads, and have people walking by all the time, so fences are a must here. I wish I had a dog that would stay near me! Of course dachshunds aren’t that great at following directions. They’re pretty stubborn little dogs. lol I rarely buy things at Half Price unless I find something I really, really want. But I try not to go often too, and the closest one is still about 30 minutes away. Thanks for stopping by!

The Layover was really cute, even more so than I’d expected! Hoping for a little cooler weather with less craziness this week. Thanks for visiting!

Lots of reading last week, don’t have a ton on my schedule to be reviewed this week, but I’d like to keep on the same reading schedule and get ahead on review books so I can catch up on back list as well as some newer books I bought. Thanks for stopping by!

    • Lisa Mandina

Yeah, who knows how long it will take to get the fence fixed. Especially since I assume they’ll be waiting for the people’s insurance to pay for it. Thanks for visiting!

  3. Oh my word! I recall when my in-laws had the car opposite roll across their front lawn and stop just 2 feet from the lounge picture window… So sorry for the broken fence! And those temperatures sound awful – though I am wishing it was just a tad warmer than the low 60s we are currently experiencing, I wouldn’t swap. Have a great week, Lisa:). And thank you for swinging by.

Is that by Nicola Yoon? I enjoyed her latest book, Instructions for Dancing! Thanks for stopping by!
