Banned Book Weeks Hop 2014

Thanks to Kathy at I Am a Reader, and Mary at Bookhounds for hosting this blog hop.  This  year I don’t know that I’m going to get a display up in my library.  You see I had ordered the stuff from ALA for the week, but because of all the red tape and how long the ordering process takes in the district, I still haven’t received it.  I’m wondering if I’ll even get it at all at this point.  I’m a little ticked, but nothing I can do about it now.  So as a librarian, my job isn’t to censor what my students read.  Yes I purchase things that I think are appropriate for my students, but other than that, they are allowed to check anything we have out.  I believe it is a parent’s job to talk to their kids about things, and hope that their children make good decisions.  I have 8 books that you can choose from.  All come from the lists on this ALA page.  And my giveaway is international as long as The Book Depository delivers to your country.  Here are the books I’m letting you choose from.

  1. I can't decide. Arrrg Maybe The Perks of Being A Wallflower or 13 Reasons Why or The Absolutely True Diary of A Part-Time Indian. See? I CAN'T DECIDE! But thanks for the giveaway 🙂

  2. Def Crank! I have yet to read it and I really think I should bc of the drug content. A person close to me is addicted and I am ignorant of drug usage. I am doing research but I also am now curious to read it.

I believe I would choose the first Gossip Girl book because that's one I've never read. I didn't even know it was banned!
