The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s

coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here:
Sunday Post Meme
.  Busy, busy, busy here again!  My April calendar is still looking very full.  But oh well, as long as I’m still enjoying it, I’m not too upset about doing lots of blogging.

Last week on the blog:

Wow, another week with 4 reviews!  I’ve also decided since I used to do mostly YA, that I need to start labeling the books that I wouldn’t recommend to my students because of the sexual content in them.  So I’ll probably start labeling with “YA Review” and “NA Review”.  One of the books I read, Calendar Girl, probably isn’t New Adult now that I think about it.  It is probably more of just an adult romance, probably close to more of an erotica type of story in a way.  You’ll notice though that I didn’t really have any posts that were just for promo, although my Blood of the Hydra review is part of a promo tour.  My walking was done correctly this week. I got two in.  Which is my goal.  Almost didn’t though!  I’m also writing this in my nice cool house with the air conditioning fixed!  So ready for the summer temperatures now.  My male dog went to the breeder during the week to hopefully give me some more grandpuppies!  While he was on his little “vacation”, I took my other dog to the dog park. There weren’t many dogs there, and she was pretty shy, but it was so much fun to see her able to just run around without having to be on a leash.  I wish I had a fenced yard so bad.  I have been kind of bad about looking for cheap/free ebooks again, but I’ve been specific about them, so haven’t been as bad as I have been in the past.

This week on the blog:

  • Reviews:  The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, Love, Lies, and Spies by Cindy Anstey, The Shadow Queen by CJ Redwine
  • Waiting on Wednesday
  • Cover Characteristic:  Circus
  • Possible reviews:  Confess by Colleen Hoover, His Kind of Trouble by Terri L. Austin

The last two possible reviews are both ones that are going pretty quickly, both as I read one before bed, and the other is an audiobook that I’m listening to, and it’s getting to the point where I usually have trouble just stopping listening before I get out of the car.  My sister who lives in NYC will be home next weekend to celebrate her birthday, so I’m excited to see her, as well as to have birthday cake!  I should also have an end of the month wrap up next weekend, both for my own blog, as well as I need to do something to get some posts shared from those who are participating in the Challenge I’m hosting, “It’s New to Me“.  So I’ll probably set up a giveaway and sharing post on Saturday.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.

Physical books:

  • Cool new coloring book, great price on the bargain racks at Barnes and Noble
  • The Raven King (The Raven Boys #4) by Maggie Stiefvater – I have been waiting forever for this one!  I’m sure I will get it read in the next week or so!
  • On Dublin Street by Samantha Young – I won this from the Hoppy Easter Extravaganza giveaway on the blog Get Your Read On.  I’ve already read it, you can read my review if you click on the title of the book above.  But now I have a copy to get signed by the author when I go to NOLA Storycon in September, because I had listened to it as a downloaded audiobook from my library.
  • Dream On by Kerstin Gier – I was lucky enough to get this in a trade with Fallon from Seeing Double in Neverland blog through Twitter.  I love this author so much!  And loved the first book!  This was like one of my top wishes for ARCs, I gave up an ARC of Ruined by Amy Tintera for it, which was hard, because I did want that one. But I knew this was an ARC I needed to match my ARC of the first book in the series. And I’ll go back and read Ruined from the library probably.
  • I won an ARC of The Secrets of Lizzie Borden by Brandy Purdy from a Goodreads giveaway!  Yay!  Can’t wait to read it!
  • I won a copy of The Unquiet by Mikaela Everett through the YA Reads 2015 Debut Author Bash from Alexandra at the Sleeps on Tables blogs.

So, I ended up buying some more books, and getting some ARCs Saturday night when I worked at the bookstore.

  • Groovy Abstract Coloring Book – I love the abstract patterns, can’t wait to start coloring in it
  • Imagines by Anna Todd – Can’t wait to start reading all these celebrity fan fiction stories!
  • Two ARCs:  The Outliers by Kimberly McCreight and one I’ve been really hoping for, The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye.

Amazon:

The first one was a free ebook, the 2nd was a gift from my OTSP Secret Sister!  Very excited!
Barnes and Noble:
-->
So you can see what kind of books I've been thinking about lately.  The first one was 99 cents, the second two were free ebooks for my Nook.
And that is what I've added to my shelves this week.  What did you add to your library?

  1. Awesome haul this week!! I have an ARC of Unquiet but I never did read it… Whoops! I really want to read The Crown's Game too! I hope you love it! 4 reviews is amazing, by the way! Have a great week 😀

    Here's my Weekly Recap!

  2. Are your dogs dachshunds, Lisa? Our puppy – three month old Freddy – is a dachshund, he's been with us for three weeks now, and my mom's dog is is dad 😀 I hope everything went well with your male dog at the breeder's.
Your new books look really good, I think I'm going to have to get my own copy of Destination Dachshund 😉
Have a wonderful week ahead, and enjoy the time you'll get to spend with your sister.

    • Yes they are! My favorite kind of dogs! I will always have to have one, my life wouldn't be the same without one. Ah, I need to see pictures of your Freddy!
      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Sounds like a good week! I really want to read the Raven Boys series. It looks so good and now that the final book is out I have no excuse not too (except for all the other series I have yet to read of course!). I really want to try Samantha Young too and that's awesome you got a book for her to sign. Have a great week!

    • It is so good. I just adore the way Maggie Stiefvater writes her characters! My first Samantha Young book was a winner for sure! So glad I'm finding all these new authors, well except for how much bigger my TBR list is getting! Thanks for stopping by!

    • I love coloring, but find it often takes time away from reading, blogging, etc., so don't do it that often. But can't seem to stop myself from buying new books! I'm a new Samantha Young fan for sure! Thanks for stopping by!

    • Now that I've started, I'm eager to finish, although I'm not sure I'm excited to read about the woman that was a gold digger who I think the next book is about. Thanks for visiting!

  4. I hope Love, Lies and Spies is good, I like the premise of that one- it kinda reminds me of School for Unusual Girls which I read a while back (and liked a lot). And 4 reviews! Wow, go you! 🙂

    • I can't decide whether to go ahead and get Ruined on Edelweiss or wait to just check it out later on. I have so many other e-galleys to read right now. Thanks for visiting!

    • Well, for the most part I'm not adding the advanced reader copies, so they are books I can read as I get to them, or not! 🙂 But yeah, I've got to stop with the free ebooks again. Thanks for visiting!

  5. The Unquiet has me curious. Fabulous haul this week. I try to tag my books as adult, new adult and ya. I only review a few ya books. Glad the AC is fixed, ours kicked on once or twice this week. Hope this week brings lots of smiles 😉

    • I'm going to have to start doing the tags as well on my posts now that I feel some of the more adult romances need that extra warning for any younger readers I might have. I'm looking forward to a good week! Thanks for stopping by!

    • Of course I won't have the puppies at my house, but I'll be showing off pictures like a proud grandma! 🙂 I do love the coloring books. It's nice that they're so big right now! Thanks for visiting!

  6. Hope you enjoy the book haul, Lisa. I read a couple of reviews of The Unquiet … sounds like an emotionally engaging read. 🙂

    • It was not fun for the few days we had where it was getting up to almost 80. Thank goodness for the nights getting really cool up until the time I got it fixed. I loved letting her run, although she didn't stray far from me. Thanks for visiting!

  7. THE RAVEN KING!!! I have got to catch up in that series! Seriously. I don't think I could ever go back to a non-fenced yard. It's just so nice to have, but I remember those days of not having it. I'm looking forward to all your reviews this week, so I hope you enjoyed them. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

    • I haven't started it yet. And I wonder if I'm putting it off to make it last longer, even though I couldn't wait for it! I hate not having a fenced yard. My last dog, she wasn't really an outdoor dog, she was pretty much a lap dog, so the yard wasn't a big deal. But the two I have now would just love it I know! Thanks for returning the stop!

    • I don't usually review the coloring books, but I should! Or maybe put my pictures when they're finished on Instagram or something. Thanks for the great idea!

  8. That's a good mindset to have as long as you're still enjoying it a full schedule it okay. Will have to check out your review of the first calendar girl book as I read that one too and enjoyed it. Nice haul and have a great week!

  9. Sya

I'm not familiar with any of these but looks like a great haul. Hope you'll enjoy your books!
And yes, I agree that sometimes blogging can be a crazy busy thing to do but I'm like you as I'm still enjoying it, so I'll be taking it one day at a time. Cheers and have a great week ahead 🙂
