Waiting on Wednesday: Denton Little’s Birthdate (Denton Little #2) by Lance Rubin

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming releases that we’re eagerly awaiting.  As I almost always do, I’ve chosen another sequel this week.  This time it was a book I didn’t realize just how much I was going to love it.  You can read my gushing review of the first book, Denton Little’s Deathdate HERE.  I just knew at the end there had to be another, because it was a pretty big cliffhanger at the end.  I’m so excited to read on and get to hear more Denton’s hilarious adventures and sarcastic wit.  Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

You only live once—unless you’re Denton Little!

The good news: Denton Little has lived through his deathdate. Yay! The bad news: He’s being chased by the DIA (Death Investigation Agency), he can never see his family again, and he may now die any time. Huh. Cheating death isn’t quite as awesome as Denton would have thought…

Lance Rubin’s debut novel, Denton Little’s Deathdate, showed readers just how funny and poignant imminent death could be. Now in this sequel, he takes on the big questions about life. How do we cope, knowing we could die at any time? Would you save someone from dying even if they were a horrible person? Is it wrong to kiss the girl your best friend is crushing on if she’s really into you instead? What if she’s wearing bacon lip gloss?

I cannot wait to see where the author takes us next.  Have you started this series yet?  If not, will you add it to your TBR?  What book are you eagerly awaiting this week?

  1. I need to start this series. I think my library just got the first one in. I think this cover is better than the first. Thanks for sharing it!

  2. I've never heard of this book before, but it sounds unique and entertaining. I will have to look into the first book, maybe add it to the TBR list. Thanks for sharing! Here's my WoW. Happy reading!

  3. Oh, my! The synopsis cracked me up along. The voice comes through well in it too. This one would be a very fun read. I'll have to add it to my list. Great pick! (And thanks for stopping by!)

    • That's part of what is so great, the total irreverence with regard to death and the teen who is getting ready to die. You should totally try it! Thanks for returning the stop!

  4. I didn't actually know there was going to be a sequel to this book because I thought it was a standalone! I haven't read the first book yet but I have heard only wonderful things about it, so this makes me happy to see!
