Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming releases that we’re eagerly awaiting. I’ve chosen a sequel this week, to a book that I wasn’t quite sure about, but that I would like to know what happens next. The first book was called End Times. It wasn’t quite what I thought when I read the synopsis, but I kind of still need to know what is actually happening. Here is the blurb from Goodreads:
Seven signs warned them. Now it’s time for Carbon County to fight back.
In End Times, Daphne lost herself in love with Owen, only to discover the dark secret that puts Carbon County at ground zero for the end of days. . . .
All thirteen of the Children of Earth have arrived and taken root in town. Together at last, they can perform the series of rituals necessary to awaken their father, a wrathful entity known as the God of the Earth.
Daphne protects their identities from Pastor Ted and the God-fearing locals out of love and allegiance to Owen. But when people start disappearing from town and Daphne begins receiving visions from God, her allegiance—and even her love—is brought into question in this astonishing companion novel to End Times.
So, should be interesting to see what happens next. Did you read the first book? Does this sound like one you might want to read? What book are you eagerly awaiting this week?
This book sound interesting might have to check it out.

Make sure to start with the first one though!
Hmmm…there are parts that sound appealing to me, but I've heard of this one or the previous one. Will check it out. Thanks!
It's a good read, but there are parts that I wasn't sure about, so I don't highly recommend it, but I do think it is worth giving a try if it sounds good to you. Thanks for stopping by!
This one sounds quite interesting – I'm always interested to see how some books spin religious themes. Although I don't tend to read this genre much, this does look good! Thanks for sharing ;P

It is a definitely interesting spin on religion, although too close for comfort for how some small town religious people can be. Thanks for stopping by!
I haven't read the first book, it was one I wasn't sure about. It seemed like it was a religious book, but maybe in a more action-y way? I don't know. I'm still not sure. I hope you like what you read when you get this one!

The religion wasn't as overtly there as I had imagined either. Will see if it shows up more in the 2nd one. You'll have to watch out for my review to see. Glad you stopped by!
Thanks for sharing…great cover and premise! Enjoy….
Here's mine: “EVIL NEVER DIES”
It is an interesting premise for sure. Thanks for visiting!
I have not read the first book so I guess that's my mission now
Waiting on Wednesday
It's an interesting read for sure. Thanks for stopping by!
Sounds interesting! Hope you will enjoy it!
Hope to get it soon! Thanks!
Hi, Lisa – I haven't read either. The cover certainly seems appropriate according to the synopsis.

The covers are definitely part of why I picked it up in the first place.
Sometimes we aren't sure about the first book but is curious enough to understand and to know what happens next. I hope you enjoy the book!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happens a lot for me. Thanks for returning the stop!
Thanks for stopping by my WOW earlier! I haven't read the first in this series, but I hope you enjoy this one!

I'm hoping it will clear up some of the questions left from the first one. Thanks for returning the stop!
I haven't started this series yet, so I'll have to see if I'll be reading this one. I hadn't seen the next book, so thanks for sharing! 🙂

It's not a high recommendation of mine, but one that I am going to read, so I thought I'd share it. Thanks for stopping by!
