Blurb:

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year—unless you’re Quinn Langley.

I’ve hated the festive season for as long as I can remember, but this year really takes the chestnut. My family has run Snow Cove’s grotto for the past sixty years, but when my dad—our resident Santa Claus—gets the flu, it’s down to me to find a new Santa and save Christmas.

If only Grandpa would stop spiking the eggnog…

Oh, and if I had more than twenty-four hours to do it. Not to mention that all the people who can help me are already busy with their own plans for the Christmas fair.

Until Nicholas freaking White knocks on the grotto door.

I haven’t seen or spoken to him since he took my v-card and abandoned me in a motel room nine years ago, but he’s my only option. I have no choice but to let him be my Santa Claus, or I risk ruining Christmas for hundreds of kids.

The last place I want to be is stuffed in the grotto with Nicholas, being Santa’s not so happy little helper, still desperately trying to hold onto my grudge.

Now, if only we could stop finding ourselves under mistletoe, that would be great…

My Review:

It was a surprise when the author said she had this one coming out. And I think it was originally only supposed to be a novella, but it turned into a full story. And I’m glad, because it was so much fun! I loved grumpy Quinn. While I personally adore the holidays, there are some things I also agreed with her about. And then there was Nicholas. I fell in love with him as well. I was a little surprised with his name there weren’t any “St. Nicholas” or “St. Nick” jokes. But that’s okay. Emma Hart knows how to make me laugh out loud as I read between the banter back and forth with characters, the crazy situations, the internal dialog of her characters, or the crazy elderly relative that always pops up in her stories.

There were so many scenes that just tickled me so much I was laughing out loud. There was one that was a teaser she shared in the group, about “Call me elf one more time!”

Elf is one of my favorite Christmas movies. There was when Quinn was thinking about his beard and had the thought that what his beard was best suited for was sitting on. Lol. And then there was a moment where she was given a long name that included Grinch and Scrooge, and as I was reading it, my brain thought “Scrooge McDuck” which wasn’t actually what was said to her. But then, in perfect sync with my thoughts, Quinn restated the name adding “McDuck” to it. I’m pretty sure I need to hang out with the author some time. I think it would be a blast.

A perfectly fun holiday story with both sexy times and sweet times, definitely a great surprise from the author this year!
