Synopsis:

Olivia Brent has one summer to save the dairy farm she just inherited.

But there’s one problem, and it’s not her lactose intolerance.

Jake Milovic.

The brooding farmhand has inherited exactly fifty percent of Brent Farm, and he’s so convinced the city girl can’t work the land, he bets she can’t save it in a summer.

Determined to prove him wrong, Olivia accepts what might be the dumbest wager of her life.

His strategy to win seems simple: follow her around, shirtlessly distracting her between bouts of relentless taunting. And it’s effective—if his dark eyes and rare smiles aren’t enough to sidetrack her, the sweaty, rolling topography of the manbeast’s body would do the trick.

What they don’t know: they’ll have to weather more than each other.

Mysterious circumstances throw the farm into disarray, and with the dairy farm in danger, Olivia and Jake have to work together. But when they do, there’s more to fear than either of them imagined.

Because now their hearts are on the line, and the farm won’t be the only casualty if they fail.

My Review:

This book was perfect! It had the best enemies to lovers story. But it had so much more! It was sweet, sexy, and funny. I loved how Olivia did her social media showing even the times that she made a fool out of herself as she came back to the farm and jumped right back in to being a part of it as much as Jake would let her.

The small town aspect of the story was done perfectly as well. I also liked how the “bad guy”, the Patton family, or the member we get to meet specifically, Chase, may or may not still be the bad guys. I wanted to believe Chase so much that I was on the edge of my seat till the end of the book when we find out for sure if he is or isn’t really trying to end the feud between their families. I won’t tell you which way it goes. That’s for you to read and find out.

But the end of this book had me in tears! And not from laughing! I mean I was lying in bed with tears welling up in my eyes and I hated how Jake kept being so stubborn. But I totally got why Olivia did what she did at the end. I would be the same way in just wanting everyone else to be happy and feeling like I needed to leave to let them have what they wanted.

Like I said, there was so much more to this story than you’d expect for a small town farm type of romance. Jake himself was so different, his whole life story hit perfect for giving this story more diversity than you’d expect from this type of romance. It wasn’t just the emotion and romance that got me though, there was some great humor and it had me smiling a lot throughout the story. This is my second book by this author, and I think I adored this one even more than the last one I read, and since that was a 5 star read as well, I guess you get how good this one is!

About the Author:

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
