Bah freaking humbug.
I hate Christmas—always have, always will. From the gaudy trees to the over-the-top decorations and the traditions everyone clings to like they’re sacred.
Particularly my family.
They own Mistletoe Town—a Hallmark movie come to life and a place most people only dream about. Thanks to an unexpected inheritance from my great-grandfather, it’s my personal nightmare.
I’m stuck running this Christmas-obsessed town with an avalanche of memories I’ve spent thirteen years trying to forget.
But it’s not just the town I abandoned… it’s her.
And no matter how much I play the Scrooge, I’m about to find out some ghosts from the past can’t be ignored—or outrun.
Especially now that she’s my sweet new employee, baking spirits merry and bright.
If I want to stay off the naughty list, I have to learn how to play nice.
And let go of the past.

My Review
I’ve wanted to read this author for awhile. So when a holiday romance popped up, I jumped at the chance to read and review! This was a very quick and easy read. It had fun holiday aspects, especially with the setting of a town that was basically dedicated to Christmas all year long!
Definitely a grumpy/sunshine but also an enemies to lovers romance too. Once upon a time, Nicholas and Noelle (perfect names for this story) were best friends. And then Nicholas – our grump/Christmas hating hero – moved away and when he asked Noelle to come with, but she said no because she loved the town, he told her they were over. When he comes back because he’s been given ownership of the town, the two meet and fireworks explode!
Nicholas is flirty and can’t seem to keep from offering her innuendos and telling her exactly how he feels about her. Noelle can’t believe he really likes her that way at first, because why in the world would he have left her like he did? Things quickly heat up between the two of them, and they do get together. This book had a lot of spicy bedroom scenes.
It reminded me of when I first started reading more romance and I looked for the books like this, almost at times speeding through the story to get to the steamy scenes. However these days I tend to put more interest into the story itself, and in some ways this fell a little short for me because at times there seemed to be more of those scenes than story. I also felt there were a few instances where the story jumped or skipped over something, and I’d have to go back a few pages to see what I’d maybe missed, but this time I didn’t find anything missed.
Overall I did enjoy it, especially all the fun Christmas puns and innuendos the two of them tossed back and forth both in banter as well as during the sexy times.

That’s the issue I had on the book I reviewed today, it was a short Christmas novella and why I’m good with steam, and it was quite steamy, I actually think I would have enjoyed a full-length novel better because I wanted more about the two MCs. It also didn’t feel very Christmasy. Hard to do in 59 pages right?
Yeah, sometimes I need a little more!
I’m jut starting those holiday books. Although the first one I am reading is about Hannukah and I’m not Jewish and probably spelled that wrong. The book is good though.
I always spell that one wrong too. I think maybe it has two “k”s instead of “n”s?
I’m not familiar with the author. I have a couple more books to finish and then I’ll be taking in the Christmas / Seasonal reads!
I was following the author from some giveaway or social media follow thing and so this was my first book.
Yep, I had a few steamy romances back in the day that were carried by the sex and had little story or character development. Glad you found a fun and light one.
That’s exactly what this one was.
