Blurb:

A new winter holiday, enemies-to-lovers romance, from the undeniably funny and always spicy, USA Today bestselling author, Meghan Quinn.

Living in a year around Christmas town has it’s drawbacks. The caroling, the decorations, the insanely cheery spirit, it never disappears. It’s why I like to hibernate away in my cave–I mean house–keeping a healthy distance from the holly jolly spirits.

And all was going according to plan until my nemesis, Storee Taylor, moved in next door to care for her Aunt Cindy. Without blinking, she turned my simple world into a real nightmare-before-Christmas, especially when she decided to enter the town Christmas Kringle contest – which she was determine to win.

Well guess what? Over my cold-hearted body.

There was no way I was going to let her win, not after the history we’d shared.

So despite my promise to myself of never participating in the sickening Christmas season, I entered the competition as well. That’s right, I planned on beating Storee at her own game by pretending this grump’s heart grew three sizes this season.

And it was working until feelings between us started heating up.
We pretended to date.
We kissed.
And well, sparks flew from there.

Which led to one explosive night involving Christmas lights, the competition, and a ladder. Don’t let me convince you who stole Christmas, I think you need to find out for yourself . . .

She points her shaky finger at me. “It is on, Connor. It is so on. Watch your back, because I’m coming for the title.”

“It’s Cole,” I virtually bark. “And if anyone needs to watch their back, it’s you.”

“Ooo, awesome comeback.” She rolls her eyes. “See you around . . . Connor.”

And then she takes off toward Cindy’s house.

“I never should have walked you home,” I call out.

“Trust me, it was more unpleasant for me. By the way, you have hot chocolate on your upper lip.”

Then she slips into her house while I quickly wipe at my mouth, most likely falling for her trick.

Well . . . it’s official; she is enemy number one. This only makes me more determined to do everything in my power to make sure she doesn’t earn the Christmas Kringle crown.

Narrated in duet by Vanessa Edwin and JF Harding, with a full cast including Shane East, Robert Hatchet, and Emma Wilder, HOW MY NEIGHBOR STOLE CHRISTMAS is now available on Audible!

So many Christmas books too early in the year! But I can’t say I didn’t love this one! First of all, the whole narration just like from How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the beginning of each chapter (and occasionally mid-chapter) was hilarious. The rhyming something probably only a comedic genius like Meghan Quinn could come up with so much of. The banter between the Cole and Storee, the over the top competitions to become the winner of the Kringle contest, and of course the wonderful town and other characters are all something that I expect, and am never disappointed to find in a book by Quinn.

So many laugh out loud moments. Where I have to literally set the book aside and get the laugh out until I can stop laughing enough to pick up the book and keep reading. A few new terms, one this time was co*k-shocked. Heard it with blocked before, but not shocked, so that was giggle worthy. There was the lederhosen bit at the beginning, the using Aunt Cindy’s “frailness” to get votes, and oh my gosh, Taran’s light display, hilarious.

I actually would love to participate in some of those challenges, or at least try some of the stuff out. Like making candy canes or tasting different flavors of eggnog. Speaking of which I’m also now craving eggnog and will have to buy some at the store next time I go, lol.

While there was a third act break-up, it totally made sense, wasn’t overly dramatic, when you consider both characters’ history. And the grand gesture to fix it was perfect, perfect for the romance, and perfect for this holiday story that has so many ties to the Grinch story/movie. There was a reveal with Aunt Cindy at the end that I kind of wondered a little about. Although the whole crevice washing that Taran had to do was hilarious.

The epilogue had talk about the next Kringle challenge, as well as a bit of a surprise for Storee and Cole. And while I don’t think there is a sequel, I would adore reading how Max, also known as Atlas, does in the competition on his own.

Meghan Quinn has another winner, proving she can totally do holiday romance, and that there probably isn’t any kind of romance she can’t write.
