Now technically the Books of My Heart version of this runs from the 25th-30th this year, but this is one topic that was always in the Top 10 I’ve done in the past that wasn’t included here, however since I always enjoy doing it I am adding my own day!
Okay, so as you can see I have purchased this book twice. However I didn’t get around to reading this one. I heard all the big fanfare over it at the beginning of the year, but by the time I decided I wanted to read it, it was sold out. I even looked for a copy when I was in Scotland, thinking maybe they’d have it, but no. Then I ended up bringing my first copy in and donating it to my school library because I had a student asking about it and I didn’t know when I’d get to it. In October I decided to pre-order the special edition in the second picture, and it finally got here halfway through December. Now, I might actually get this one read before the end of the year, we’ll see!
I loved The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren, but didn’t get a chance to fit in this audio last year. Hopefully I can get to it soon!
This one sounded right up my alley, but I did not get to it. Again, we’ll see if I can get my hands on it next year maybe!
I had been reading this author’s other series as part of blog tours, but just didn’t have time to sign up for this one when it came out. Now there are at least one or two more in this series and I need to get going because they sound so good!
Another book I purchased this past year but then never got around to reading. I’ve heard great things about this one!
I purchased this fun book at the Flirty in Kansas City book convention last February and wish I’d read it! Going to try to get it read before this year’s convention, although I don’t see the author listed as being there in 2024.
Now I did just get this one from the last Book of the Month box I think, but still, wish I’d gotten to it already!
I was unfortunately too busy at the time the author got this one out, so I wasn’t able to join into the pre-pub tour, so now I need to read it!
Started hearing a lot about this one, so need to get it read soon too!
I’m a bit behind on K. Bromberg and she used to be an auto-buy/blog tour/advanced copy reader. But there were a few that I kind of wasn’t into I think? But now they seem to be back to what I want to read, and now I’m this one and another one behind. I did get this one on Audible though, so next year I’ll listen.
Final Thoughts
So, tell me, did you read any of these this past year? If not, were they on your TBR as well? What books do you wish you’d made time to read this past year? The official Top 10 will start on Monday. If you’re interested in joining, here is the info:
I read Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, and also the Christina Lauren and enjoyed them all. But you still have this week. I could easily read another 4-5 books this week. Also you can link this up to the Your Choice on Friday as it is fine, even great- to have more than one choice! Your Choice is the only post I have written for myself yet. Maybe I’ll do this but it’s a looong list.
I may or may not get to it this week, as I also realized I need to get to the My Life as a White Trash Zombie book at some point, and I think maybe you mentioned it is only available as an audio on Audible and not the library? So I’ll probably end up reading a book, but I also have ARCs to get started so I’m not behind for the year either.
yes the WTZ book is ebook at the library but audio is only at Audible. You have until mid January as the chat isn’t until Jan 21. I’m not reading it until January but I’ll be doing the audio version.
Fourth Wing is my #1 book for 2023. I hope you enjoy it.
Me too! Can’t wait to have time to read it.
Fourth Wing is a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy it when you get around to finally reading it. Maybe you need to borrow the audio…
I may have to! But I have troubles listening to fantasy, my mind wanders if there’s too much description, which fantasy always seems to have.
