So this is always the hardest one to do for me. I usually end up having to do top 10 romance books and top 10 YA books. This year, because I just didn’t have a ton of time to wade through and decide, and so many were just good books, I narrowed it down to just 10. But these are all books I read a copy of and not audiobooks since I’m doing that as its own day. No particular order!
Final Thoughts
Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? What is your favorite book of the year? If you want to do this and link up, you can go to Books of My Heart and find the post for today’s topic!
These are always fun. I have So This Is Ever After that I obviously need to read.
It was really good! I hope you get to read it soon!
Thanks so much for sharing Lisa. I love the Love Hypothesis. I’ll have to think about the others as I read less romance and more a mix.
True, that is nice that you’re reading more of a mix! I still just can barely stand to do any adult books other than romance. But I do read the variety of genres for YA.
That’s a pretty good list! I’m looking forward to reading The Do-Over.
It was really good! I hope you get a chance to read it soon. Thanks for visiting!
I also loved Jane’s, Dixon’s, and Hazelwood’s books. I read my first Murphy book this year, but it wasn’t that one. I guess I need to give it a read! I already have that Painter book on my list, too. Nice list!
I somehow got on Monica Murphy’s review team and I’m not upset as I always enjoy her stuff! Thanks for stopping by!
The Love Hypothesis is amazing and so funny! LOVE IT! I also read Ice Planet Barbarians and it’s pretty steamy for a frozen planet book!
Agreed on both of those! I started Ice Planet Barbarians expecting to do a lot of laughing at ridiculousness, but I was sucked right in, and definitely fanning myself during some of those scenes!
Its agony narrowing them down, right? I loved Love Hypothesis and Ice Planet Barbarians.
It is! Especially if you’re like me and DNF books you don’t like.
Ice Planet Barbarians! And I just saw a review of The Luminaries somewhere and that sounds pretty awesome!
I really liked The Luminaries!
The only one of these I’ve read is The Love Hypothesis and I loved that one too!
I think that one is one a lot of people have read. I was a bit late getting that one read.
I usually break up my lists each year too, but I just don’t have time this year. Hopefully next Tuesday I’ll be able to pull a list together. Looks like you had a pretty good year!
Exactly! No time to do much breaking up. Although now I’m on Christmas break so I can do more.
I see so many rave for Ice Planet Barbarians. It’s so outside my norm but I’m still tempted to give it a try.
It was totally outside of my norm, but when I picked it up, I got hooked really quickly!
I really enjoyed The Love Hypothesis and a few of the Ice Planet Barbarians series, too.
I have only read the first Ice Planet book, but bought the second and need to read on!
Great to see your top ten books. I heard lots of good things about the Ice Planet Barbarians series, but haven’t read it myself yet. I like the book cover for Ever After.
I wasn’t sure about the Ice Planet Barbarians series, but the first book convinced me. Thanks for stopping by!
Great picks!
Thanks for stopping by!
Fantastic list. This is why I stopped, because I read so many genres I was having to do multiple posts…lol
I get that! I did quick lists this year and was able to mostly just do 10. 🙂
I keep seeing Cathy Yardley on book lists but haven’t read them yet!
I read her book in the SmartyPants Romance world and then tried this one!
I really want to try something by Hazelwood. Luminaries sounds really good too! Thank you for sharing!
I have really enjoyed the Hazelwood books even though I know some people say they’re all the same. So at least read one I guess! lol Luminaries was very good!
