Once again I’ll be linking this up with the Sunday Post (hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer) and with Stacking the Shelves (hosted by Reading Reality).
As this posts I will be enjoying my family’s annual Memorial Day weekend in Branson getaway, so I may be slow to respond to comments and comment back on other people’s posts. But it also means school is out and I’ll have more blogging time! Yay!
So this week started out with a busy Monday full of packing at school. I also ended up hurting/twisting my hip somehow. Ugh. I did find out from my principal that we are supposed to have the circulation desk, it is a different budget than the people my clerk talked to last week. So fingers crossed it’s still going to be a new desk for me!
Tuesday got good news that we are for sure getting our new circulation desk. Yay! So happy! And we pretty much got everything packed up, well all the books anyway. We have a little more to do with our current circulation desk. And all the books we’re getting rid of will need to be boxed up and sent to the district where they will supposedly send them to be auctioned off or sold, I don’t know. Finals started on Wednesday too, and we were starting to get all the textbooks back.
Wednesday we had all the books boxed except for the auction books, but we’re getting the building subs in on packing those up. The custodians came in and started moving the boxes. Now I know they’re putting them in teacher’s classrooms during the summer, but teachers still have finals and may not have their own stuff packed up. I wish the custodians would have waited, but I guess I didn’t have a choice. As a teacher I might have been a bit cranky. I also had to go around and put notes on all the different pieces of furniture that I wanted to keep, or throw out, etc. I have to draw up a plan for where I want things to be moved back when they are done too. I also got to take home one of the old card catalog cabinets because otherwise they were going to trash them. I’m hoping to refinish it this summer, paint it, etc., turn it into either a desk/table in my office, or a nightstand in my second bedroom. I also ordered my autograph book for Book Bonanza. It says it will only take a couple weeks, but I want to make sure I have it before July, and they had a really good deal where I got an extra 20% off the total along with all the other deals they had going on.

Thursday was even busier with the district sending people from the Maintenance and Grounds department over to stop moving the furniture out of the library. Busy busy day.
Friday I was afraid I would be stuck there all day, even though teachers kind of get to leave as soon as they are done after finals. But we actually had a pretty good plan for checking in all the laptops. They continued taking so much out of the library to get ready for renovations. It’ll be interesting when I go back on Tuesday to see what it looks like! I drove down to Branson right after I left work on Friday to meet my family for our annual trip. We had the cookout and played mini-golf Friday night. The view from the deck of our cabin:

Saturday we took one of the pontoon boats from the resort where we stay and went up and down the lake/river. Here is all my family enjoying the ride, and a shot of the resort from the water.

Sunday we are supposed to go to the outlet mall, and maybe an antique mall. Will probably do s’mores in the evening. I will be sure to check all your comments and go visit other blogs once I get home Monday night!
Books Finished:

The first two I won from Bookish First giveaways. The third was an ARC I got from the publisher. Reviews should be coming this week. The last two were audiobooks I bought on Audible. Both were basically novellas. I didn’t get a ton of reading done during the trip to Branson. With my niece and nephew taking up a lot of attention, didn’t have as much reading time.
New Additions To My Library:
ARCs:

Got this from the publisher this week.
Audiobooks:

All four were from Audible. The first three I bought, the last one was available with Audible Escape for free. I’ve loved the other two in the Ali Hazelwood series, the first one in the Tara Sivec series, and the first two in the Cara Bastone series as well! Plus the last one has a narrator that will be at Book Bonanza in July.
Bookish Stuff:
None
E-galleys:

This is for a book tour review coming up in the next couple weeks.
Free E-books:

This was free on Amazon.
Physical books:

This was from the publisher for a blog tour review through Rockstar Book Tours.

This was a #booksfortrade deal over on Twitter.
What I’m Watching:
Finished rewatching the 3rd season of Stranger Things. Also the season finale of Survivor was this week. I’m very happy with who won! Started watching Prehistoric Planet on Apple+ TV. I was a huge fan of the Walking With Dinosaurs documentary type shows that came out 1999, early 2000s, so this looks to be very similar to that type of show.
I’m ready to start Stranger Things, but no time and no smart tv in the place we’re staying this weekend.
Giveaways:

Final Thoughts:
How was your week? Did you read or watch anything good? Get any good books? Do you do anything special for Memorial Day?
Sounds like a busy week. Hope you were able to keep all the good furniture. I have a friend who is a teacher’s asst and she is exhausted at this time of year. Have a great week.
Well, I don’t know about “good” furniture. We really need new furniture in the library, but other than a new circulation desk, there wasn’t a budget for that for now.
Happy start of summer! Sounds like your break is off to a great start with your family trip. Fingers crossed the library renovation goes well.
Yep, good so far! I’ll be excited to see my library next fall hopefully it will be done in time to get in during August and get ready for the students.
You’ve had a busy week! I’m happy to read you’ll be enjoying your break. Looks like you’ve got some great new books.
Happy reading.
Thanks for stopping by!
oh I am SO glad you are getting your circulation desk. I would love to plan where everything goes after, that’s my kind of task. I love that card catalog – it would make a great night stand or something with all the drawers. I hope you are having a great weekend and the weather is nice for you.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Yes, I love organizing! When I came into this library last fall I had all kinds of ideas of things I wanted to “fix” to suit me. Now with starting over with a new desk I can just start out the way I want it!
Branson sounds fun! And so does that pontoon ride. Prehistoric Planet looks awesome- I want to find some time to try it. 🙂
Have a great vacation!!!!!!
Branson is always fun, and nice to hang out with family. Although I was so exhausted from the last week of school that I didn’t spend as much time out doing things as I normally would. Spent more time relaxing at the cabin. Thanks for visiting!
That card catalog is too cute! I want one.
That place you stay at in Branson looks awesome!
We like almost everything about it! The only big issue we have is that we stay on the top floor, so we have to climb up steps and for my mom who has had knee surgery and my aunt’s boyfriend who has had hip surgery are not always fans of the steps. But otherwise we love it!
What a beautiful view from your place in Branson. I’ve never been there, but, my husband used to go there as a kid.
Branson being so close it has always been an easy vacation for us and my family as I was growing up.
It looks like you’re having fun on your vacation! And that’s so cool that you get to take a card catalog home😁 Have a good week!
Yep, can’t wait to get going on the project of the card catalog. Just hope I can do a good job on it!
Ooh nice! I love being able to go on a vacation! I’m hoping to do a long weekend one next month, fingers crossed that my plans hold up. The festival I want to attend has been canceled ever since Covid and it looks like it’s really happening this year. As far as I know. So fingers crossed!
Nice new reads too! Lots of new to me ones! I hope you enjoy them all!
Ooh, fingers crossed you get to go to your festival! I’m also looking forward to going to Book Bonanza in July, so that’s my next big excitement of the summer. Thanks for stopping by!
