Top 10 of 2021: Books I’m Looking Forward to in 2022

Top 10 of 2021 is hosted once again by Kimberly Faye Reads.

This last topic is always a hard one, because I’m so excited for so many! So I will divide it up into two lists, a Romance section and a YA section, and it’s possible there might be more than 10 on each of those lists too. lol Also, as usual, they’re listed in no particular order of importance.

Romance/Adult books:

1.

Looking forward to this new series of standalones by one of my favorite authors, Sara Ney.

2.

While I wasn’t blown away by the first book in this new SmartyPants Romance series, I liked it well enough that I am excited for the second book, which is by a different author, so we shall see!

3.

Gwenda Bond is a favorite author of mine, one that I feel doesn’t get enough recognition. I didn’t get around to reading the first book in this series until later in the year after it had come out, but I really liked it, so am looking forward to reading this next one!

4.

There’s no cover for this one yet, and I don’t know for sure if we’ve found out who it is about? But I loved Jackson James’s story this past year and I’m guessing this cover will fit into the set!

5.

Very excited for another new Penny Reid series!

6.

I’m a big fan of Kiersten White, so looking forward to this adult horror story later this spring.

7.

There are many Meghan Quinn books I am excited for in 2022, but this one is on the top of the list right now after the little prequel novella I read this past month.

8.

Loved the first one in this standalone story series by Hunting, and can’t wait for the second one!

9.

No official cover to share yet, but I can’t wait for Jay Crownover’s next installment in the children of the Marked Men series, Prodigal Son. It comes out in January!

10.

First off, I ADORE that cover! Secondly, I can’t wait for this Samantha Young book in 2022.

And like I said, one more because it’s hard to stay at just 10 and I have an ARC of this one:

YA Books:

1.

Loved the first book, Shine, and am so excited for this sequel!

2.

Another sequel to a favorite book from this past year, Blood Like Magic. I can’t wait for this one!

3.

A new Buffy book! I’ll be reading in January for a blog tour, can’t wait!

4.

And another new Buffy book, about Spike! I really cannot wait! Hoping to get my hands on an ARC if I can to add to my BTVS book collection.

5.

I never was able to get started on the Jane series by these authors, but I did jump right in and get an e-galley of the first one in the Mary series since I had loved the show Reign.

6.

Another of my favorite authors that I think is underappreciated is Gretchen McNeil. I got an ARC of this to read too!

7.

The wordy/book nerd/writer in me loves the game of Scrabble, so a book that features a champion player? Sign me up! Hopeful I might get an ARC of this one from the publisher.

8.

After being an assistant bowling coach the last two years at my last school, my interest in bowling was reignited so this one sounds cute!

9.

I really liked the book I read by this author in 2021, and I have an ARC of this to read this spring.

10.

The publisher reached out to me about this one and I have an ARC I can’t wait to read!

And like I said, because I have trouble narrowing it down, here are a few runners up:

Final thoughts:

Are any of these books on your TBR for 2022? If not, I hope maybe I’ve given you a few to add to your list.

I always love doing these Top 10 lists every year, but kind of sad it’s over.  Now on to determining what challenges I’m going to do for next year!

Yeah, I think that one was supposed to come out in October or November, and got pushed back. So I’ve been waiting for it for awhile. I also have an ARC to read!

Thanks! Can’t wait for all of them, and there are so many others I could have put on the list but they didn’t have covers to share yet.
