Once again I’ll be linking this up with the Sunday Post (hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer).
Oh my gosh. This week with all the back to school meetings and all the teachers back and all the new stuff I found out was going to be a part of my new job that I didn’t know, crazy!!!! And it just seemed to add up to more and more all being dropped on me. By Thursday night, I was a little, no make that a lot overwhelmed. I was nervous about going to a social event our administration planned for us on Friday night, my introvert side, as well as the exhaustion from the week, especially Friday’s craziness, made me consider not going. I ended up going for a few hours, and it was okay. It was a neat place they had rented out called Arcade Alley and we got to play video games, including pinball machines and skee-ball for free as much as we wanted. We got free non-alcoholic beverages and some small snacky foods, but I did go ahead and purchase myself an alcoholic beverage when I got there. Friday was just hell really. Between finding out this past week that I had to be in charge of checking out laptops to every student this year, but they weren’t organized or ready to go, so we had to do that, and then having to enroll the 60 students into virtual learning that we have, I was a bit frazzled. Oh yeah, and the air conditioning in the back portion of the library, where we were working on getting the laptops ready, had quit working at the end of last week. It is supposedly going to be a little while before it is fixed too, because all three of the units that cover that area and the hallways adjacent have to be replaced. Also my library assistant was out on Friday because her son was having surgery. And Friday morning we had a special day for just the freshmen to come in and get to know the building a little before school officially starts on Monday. So yeah, I haven’t even been through the first week of school yet, but I’m exhausted and feeling this meme.

Books finished:
The first book was kind of long and took me a little while to get through because of all the complexity to the story. The second one was a quick fun read, like all of Hart’s books tend to be. The third one was a hilarious audiobook that had me laughing out loud in my car so much, and wishing that I could just find a guy to have fun texting conversations with even if it went nowhere. And finally the second book in the Adair Family series by Samantha Young was so good! It took several days to get it read, thanks to the crazy busy week I had. But then Saturday morning I picked it up when I got up and then finished it, which included some crying! Look for the review for this one on Monday.
New Books:
I didn’t buy any this week, however I did get two books that I’d won from Facebook giveaways by authors in the mail. Here are the Instagram pictures I did with them.
E-galleys for Review:
Audiobook for review:

What I’m Watching:
Well, didn’t have a lot of time for tv this week. I had to stay at school till almost 8 pm on Tuesday for a back to school night. Then Wednesday night I had to do a Zoom meeting for the virtual learning that I’ll be kind of overseeing for my high school. But I am still hooked on Cruel Summer.
And I’m still enjoying the little single episode American Horror Stories.
Last Week’s Posts/Giveaways:
I think to save time with my weekly posts, I’m not going to share all the links like I have been because you can just click on those on the side bar. I will however make sure to point out the giveaways here.

The stress that comes with starting a school year is NO JOKE!! There is always something new heaped on, something different that needs addressed, etc. It really does just drain you. Hopefully next week is easier and less tiring!
This year has been worse than the last 7 years. Oh well. HOpefully next week is better. Thanks for stopping by!
I hope all is going well with the laptop situation and that they get the air working soon. At least you had a good reading week.
Yeah, I don’t know how I had a good reading week since I don’t feel like I had a lot of time, but it was still good! Thanks for visiting!
I used to work in a school and there was so much preparation to do before school actually started. I hope this will be a more relaxing week for you.
Your e-galleys look like so much fun. Enjoy them.
I loved Cruel Summer. Very well done.
Hope you have a great week!
The first day was so miserable for me because I wasn’t doing anything that had to do with being a librarian. I’m so upset with my job right now. Obviously I’ve got to give it at least a school year, so I’m hoping it will get better. Thanks for stopping by!
Congrats on the giveaways! Glad you’re able to relax a bit with you’re reading, a the very least. Holy heck! Love, Comment, Subscribe piques my interest. Love me a bit of Youtube, turn that into a cute little romance, I’m there.
I’m looking forward to that one for sure! Thanks for visiting!
I think laptop deployment is a crazy stressful responsibility and in no ac. Ugh! I feel for you ?. BUT you did get some very cute looking reads that should take you away from it all. Romcoms are absolutely perfect for that ❤️ Happy reading!
Right now my books are what are keeping me sane. Since my new library job so far doesn’t seem to have much to do with actually being a librarian. Thanks for stopping by!
All the school librarians I’ve worked with have the same complaint. I think you’d have to go to a college or public library to actually do what you love and are trained to do.
The library job I left for this one I got to do library stuff. I’m having serious regret at leaving for any reasons. 🙁
Wow. I remember (well!) the exhaustion of normal first-weeks-of-school in the library, but I can’t imagine doing all the things you are having to do right now. You need to take a personal day to recoup.
I love some of the books on your shelves. Cupcake looks delightful, and I like the sound of Love Comment Subscribe, too.
Congratulations on your 12th blogoversary!
I’m hoping as everyone says that things will calm down. But I hate that I don’t get to start the year as a librarian. It makes me very unhappy with my job. Oh well. Thanks for visiting!
Whew a new situation always is a little to get used to it but you had some extra things. I really enjoyed the Karen Grey audio and hope you do.
I’m hoping it will get better. I think it’s more than just a new situation. But we’ll see in a week or two if I make it that long! Thanks for stopping by!
Oh wow that’s a lot! And I’m the same way with work- related get togethers like that. Even though they often (well, sometimes ha ha) turn out okay, I’m not always a fan. 🙂
Hope your first week goes well! This week school starts here too…
Introvert’s Guide looks fun, and so does Cruel Summer. I need to catch up on Netflix shows.
Work get togethers aren’t so bad when you know everyone and don’t feel awkward. But when you’re brand new and introverted like me, it makes for a rough anxiety-inducing time, at least leading up to it. So far the first week isn’t going better, almost worse than last week, but we’ll see! Thanks for visiting!
Sounds like you’ve had a hectic week! I hope school settles into routine soon. The arcade night sounds quite fun.
It’s slowing down a bit. I just hope that when this craziness is over I get to do what I became a librarian for and that I am still happy being there like I hoped I would be. Thanks for stopping by!
Sheesh, that sounds like a really stressful week! I’m glad you made it through and hopefully had a nice weekend. I know it’s a new week now so *fingers crossed* it’s going well. That Arcade Alley place sounds fun. I think I have something similar near me but I’ve never been!!

This week, not any better really, almost worse. 🙁
