Synopsis:

An endearingly irreverent love story.

To Jackie Ryan, insults are foreplay and love is war. What the feisty redhead lacks in stature, she makes up in attitude. She’s made more than one grown man cry and she’s damn proud of it. Little does the rowdy barista know she’s about to meet her match in the shape of a walking, talking pair of starched khakis.

When unassuming Eddie Jaworski stumbles into a quirky coffee shop, he isn’t expecting a battle of wits with the maniac behind the counter. Still, he can’t help be intrigued by the endearingly irreverent human enigma. She’s brash, but considerate. Closed off to most, but fiercely loyal to a few. Everything is a joke, except those things that are sacred. Jackie doesn’t trust easily and if he wants to get close, he’s going to have to work for every inch. Good thing he’s up for the challenge.

But Eddie has a secret—one he didn’t mean to keep—that’s going to tug at the delicate strings weaving the pair together. When everything begins to unravel, Jackie must decide just what she’s willing to risk for love.

My Review:

So in case you haven’t read any of the series yet, not that each book can’t stand alone on its own, but I wanted to post links to my reviews for the prior books before I started this one, you can see those above.

I was definitely pulled into the story right from the beginning. I think it is because I remembered and enjoyed Jackie from the first book, So That Got Weird. I loved her sarcasm even when it was maybe a bit much, I totally got that part and how she dealt with it. To be honest, when I read about Jackie in the first book, I pictured her a little differently. So getting a book about her really was fun to get to know her more than just as Elizabeth’s gaming friend. And we got some time with Elizabeth and Austin from the first book as well, which may be another reason why I liked this one so much. I am going to say that I probably liked this one as much as I loved the first book in this series.

And I loved Eddie too, it wasn’t just Jackie who made the story. Even though we pretty much know his secret without being told explicitly who he was, I kind of feel like Jackie totally overreacted when she found out. I get being a little upset. But I mean, come on, I’d have been much more excited about it than mad. He was able to give Jackie her snarkiness right back and I loved that!

Once again the epilogue was perfect. Just enough without going too far into the future, but also far enough that I was eager for knowing how things were going.

Thanks for commenting! Authors commenting on my blog makes my day! But yeah, I don’t know, I probably relate more to Elizabeth, so I probably like her a little better. But I loved both stories!

I totally hear you. There’s a bit of me in each character I think. Elizabeth is closer to who I am, Jackie is who I wish I could be some days. No filter. No regrets! ?
