Weekly Wrap-Up #18

Once again I’ll be linking this up with both Stacking the Shelves (hosted by Reading Reality) and the Sunday Post (hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer).

This past week hasn’t been anywhere near as exciting as last week with my new car and new heating and cooling system being put into my house. But, I got a letter in the mail on Friday that freaked me out, saying that I wasn’t approved for a car loan, and I thought I would have a problem and have to take my car back or something. Turns out that they had tried one way to get a loan, and that was Wells Fargo Auto, who said no. When they said no, they ended up financing me through Nissan, so all was good and I still get to love my new orange car. Although I am still waiting for them to pay off the loan for my car that I traded in. That car payment is due on Monday and it is still showing I have to pay. Which I can, my first payment for the new car isn’t until next month. But I was hoping to have this car payment to put towards the sales tax on the new one.

I did get to go see the high school library where I will be working next school year. And it is really big! And nice! I’m very excited to get started, but of course I’ve got about two more weeks at this school and then all summer. I’m very excited at all the things my new library will have, my own office, a back room with a printer poster and lots of space for storage, as well as a little bathroom and a kitchen area! It will be different and there are always things to learn and get used to, so I’m a little nervous too.

The weather has been crazy here, getting up to about 70 degrees during the day, which is a little cool for May weather here in Missouri. Which means I’ve actually had to turn the heat back on at night.

Did I mention only two weeks left of school? Lol. Hoping we can have a more normal school year next fall as well.

New Books:

I only bought one book for myself, and even though I’d already read an advanced copy, the author was going to change the cover to a shirtless guy, and I kind of liked what was already on the cover.

E-galleys for Review:

Free audiobooks:

I keep forgetting to share about how AudiobookSYNC 2021 has started and the audiobooks I’ve chosen this year. If you haven’t signed up for this yet, you totally should! It’s through AudioFile, and it is for teens, but as a school librarian, I am able to sign up for it. Check to see if you are as well HERE. For the first two weeks these are the ones I picked, but there were two others I could have gotten.

Free e-books:

Last week’s posts:

Reviews: Here With Me by Samantha Young, Gutter Girl (Twin River High #1) by Lynn Rush and Kelly Anne Blount, Celebrity Dirt by J.D. Hollyfield, and Sixteen Scandals by Sophie Jordan

  1. Wow! Last week was a great week for you. A new car is such a delightful experience. And orange! Fun. Enjoy.

I was at three libraries during my career as a school librarian, and every move was fun. I hope your high school library is fabulous!

I’m excited, but as it gets closer to the end of this library job I’m getting a little nostalgic and hoping that I will have some of the same things that I like here be able to happen at my new library. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Glad all the stuff with your car worked out. I have been leasing for over a decade, since I don’t dive much, but I owned the three cars prior before getting new cars. I know nothing about how the payoff stuff works in-between cars. How exciting visiting your new library! A change of scenery is a good way to keep the job fresh (especially if you were not totally happy at your past job).

I thought about leasing again, but they just talked me into buying, and with this car, I’m thinking I might keep it longer than usual because I love the color so much! We’ll see. I like a lot about my current job, but it definitely has things that I am wanting changed. So hopefully the new one will be what I’m hoping to see changed. It already is a difference with a larger salary and in the same state where I live. Thanks for visiting!

It was a stressful evening until I found out it wasn’t the loan company they’d finally went through. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I’m glad things worked out with the car loan so you can keep your new car!!
The library you’re going to be working at sounds fantastic! I hope these next two weeks go by quick for you and you have an awesome summer.

Thanks so much! I’ll miss everyone where I’m working now, but I’m so ready to get going on the next chapter, you know! Thanks for stopping by!

It does seem like one so far! Although I’m already thinking about changes I might want to make. lol. I’m wondering if I can go in over the summer and work there. Thanks for visiting!

So far it is okay, still waiting on the old car finance to be paid off, hoping it doesn’t hurt my credit! Thanks for stopping by!
