Weekly Wrap-Up #17

Once again I’ll be linking this up with both Stacking the Shelves (hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality) and the Sunday Post (hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer).

So I did not do a weekly wrap-up last weekend since I did a monthly wrap-up and it felt both repetitive and also like it would take too much time. Some things last weekend you missed for this type of post were that I got a new car:

And this past week I also ended up having to bite the bullet and pay to have a new heating and cooling system put in for my house. That’s what I spent my day off this past week doing. Expensive, but worth it. While we had some hot summer like weather a week or so ago, now that I have an A/C that works, it seems we are having cooler weather and I’m getting to test out the new furnace as well. It’s a weird May so far!

I’ve also been spending too much time playing my new Nintendo Switch game Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town.

New Books:

Only one physical book this week, a sequel to a book I read a while ago, and I found it for $1 at the Dollar Tree! And then the other one below is what I picked this week for my May Audible credit.

E-galleys for Review:
Free E-books:

Now the very first one, Motion, I’ve actually already read, but I think it was an audiobook maybe? So I needed an ebook copy as well.

Last week’s posts:

Reviews: Better than the Movies by Lynn Painter, The Hate of Loving You by Maya Hughes – I am getting a bit behind on my reading according to my Goodreads goal, which is probably because of some longer books as well as a couple DNFs over the past two weeks.

Promo posts: 9th Annual Mental Health Awareness Month Book Fundraiser benefiting the Keith Milano Memorial Fund at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Cover Reveal: While You Were Texting by Delancey Stewart and Marika Ray, Release Tour with Excerpt: Off to the Races by Elsie Silver, Cover Reveal: Tragic Lies (Rixon High #2) by L.A. Cotton, Book Blitz with Giveaway – Text Wars: May the Text Be With You (An Accidentally in Love Story #3) by Melanie Summers and Whitney Dineen, Release Blitz: The Brentwood Boys Box Set by Meghan Quinn, Cover Reveal: Under the Milky Way by Vanessa Barneveld, Book Blitz with Giveaway: Adult Supervision Required by Sarah Peis, and Book Blitz with Giveaway: Falling for Another Darcy (Love Manor #3) by Kate O’Keeffe

Giveaways:

Final Thoughts:

How was your week? Did you get any new books?

  1. You’ve got some great looking giveaways going on. Hopefully, the new heating and cooling system will offer an efficiency that will reduce your energy bills in the future; in addition to making your home more comfortable. I’m currently listening to Arsenic and Adobo it’s delightful and the reader is great!

Maybe I’ll have to get Arsenic and Adobo on audio then! Although I’ll want a physical copy because of the dachshund on the cover too. lol. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Sorry you had to replace the heating/cooling system, but at least you know it will be reliable for a while. Ahhh – home ownership! Olive Town looks like something I could enjoy. I have to short list that one.

    • Lisa Mandina

Yep, home ownership is definitely fun! But with dogs that I know aren’t perfectly housebroken, it’s probably for the best. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Sorry you had to spend big bucks on a new AC unit but yes, you’ll be glad when it gets hot. 🙂 Thanks for sharing about your books; they’re all new to me.

    • Lisa Mandina

Yeah, I hate being hot, and between allergies keeping me from opening windows and dogs that will bark at every little noise, I’d get no sleep without a/c. Thanks for visiting!

    • Lisa Mandina

Yeah, same here. It was getting hot, we had a couple 80 degree days. But now we’re back into very early spring weather, so I’m getting to test out my new heater as well. lol. Thanks for stopping by!

    • Lisa Mandina

Yep, hated having to do that, but it had to be done. There was no way I’d make it through the summer without A/C. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Yay for the new car and the new AC/heat unit! I’m sure it wasn’t so fun to spend the money but definitely worth the enjoyment. Our weather is bonkers so I’m using both heat and air intermittently at the moment. Hope you have a great week!

Same here with heat and air. The last few days have been heat at night, and even today! Thanks for visiting!
