Lisa’s Looking Forward To #104 – April 13th, 2021

Not a lot of books coming out this second week of the month. Once again I’ll be joining up with the Can’t Wait Wednesday posts hosted by Wishful Endings.

This one sounds so good, and I’m actually going to be reading and reviewing it for a blog tour on the 12th.

Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

New York Times –bestselling author Goldy Moldavsky delivers a deliciously twisty YA thriller that’s Scream meets Karen McManus about a mysterious club with an obsession for horror.

New girl Rachel Chavez is eager to make a fresh start at Manchester Prep. But as one of the few scholarship kids, Rachel struggles to fit in, and when she gets caught up in a prank gone awry, she ends up with more enemies than friends.

To her surprise, however, the prank attracts the attention of the Mary Shelley Club, a secret club of students with one objective: come up with the scariest prank to orchestrate real fear. But as the pranks escalate, the competition turns cutthroat and takes on a life of its own.

When the tables are turned and someone targets the club itself, Rachel must track down the real-life monster in their midst . . . even if it means finally confronting the dark secrets from her past.

The next two books actually come out on the 15th, but I thought I’d share them as well.

I am maybe reading and reviewing this for a blog tour on the 15th, but I haven’t recieved a confirmation saying for sure I’m on the tour, so we will see.

Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

I’ve tried to like Adrian Savage, the mercurial frontman for Fugitive Summer, while serving as his band’s opening act on tour. We’re stuck together for three months, after all. And I’m well aware I’m lucky to be here.

But it’s proved impossible. He’s far too rude and dismissive a guy to get along with. And way too good at getting under my skin. In fact, at this point, I think it’s fair to say I downright hate his guts.

Global thirst trap that he is, though, I’m finding it extremely difficult not to want to jump Savage’s bones, despite how much he infuriates me. I hate myself for it. But my body is going rogue on me. It doesn’t matter, though. I’m determined to resist him.

In fact, what I’ve decided is that, as long as I’m here and stuck with him, I’m not only going to give Savage the sound tongue lashing nobody else around here has the balls to deliver, I’m going to bring that bad boy to his knees.

I will be reading this one for sure since I am part of the author’s ARC team and I devour anything by her! Should be posting my review for this one on the 16th as part of a blog tour.

Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

“She went home with someone else that night?”

Hearing the disbelief from my best friend’s mouth makes the events of my failed date sting that much more.

I would like to make it known, I have a lot more swagger than what it seems. I don’t normally ask a girl out, have her fail to recognize it’s a date, and then give me a high five–as if I’m her wingman–and take off with someone else.

No. Normally I’m the one taking the girl home but with Stella, it’s been one failed attempt after another and frankly, I’m done trying.

But thanks to my best friend getting married in Hawaii right before the school year starts, I’m stuck on a tropical island, watching Stella parade around in what she claims is a bathing suit.

Unfortunately, that’s not the worst of it, just the tip of the iceberg. Because what I think is going to be a relaxing vacation, avoiding the one girl I can’t seem to make it work with, has turned into a spectacle of being recruited as Stella’s doting fake fiancé so she can save face with an old “friend” from high school.

Now I’m navigating through purgatory while trying not to get turned on by the way she holds my hand or kisses my jaw. It’s all fake, that’s what I keep telling myself, even though it feels entirely too real.

Final Thoughts:

Only three this week compared to the 12 I had last week. Have you read any of these yet? What new books are you eagerly awaiting this week?

  1. I’m really curious about The Mary Shelley Club. I hate pranks in real life, but when I’m reading about them in books, it’s not so bad. LOL I hope you enjoy these when you read them, Lisa!

Same, I’m not a big fan of pranks, but they are fun to read about! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. The Meghan Quinn books sounds funny and smart! I haven’t read any of her books, but if I’m looking for a complete change of pace, it sounds like one I could really enjoy. Thank you for sharing an interesting, wide-ranging list of books, Lisa:))

Her books are hilarious! But also very sexy, and also have a lot of emotions even with all the other stuff! Thanks for visiting!
