Once again I’ll be linking this up with both Stacking the Shelves (hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality) and the Sunday Post (hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer).
Last week we had one of the coldest weeks in a long, long time. Not only that, there was a ton of snow! And so, we ended up having good old fashioned, real snow days! Not just remote learning days, which we’ve had all year, but thanks to the rolling power outages, that were actually done on purpose, our school district canceled even remote learning for Tuesday and Wednesday. Then Thursday was the first official day I HAD to be back in the building, even though I’ve been going in to work throughout the whole school year. But it was the first day my co-librarian was back, as well as the people in the office they made in what used to be library storage space. So it meant I pretty much now have to wear a mask all day at work since I am no longer in my own area by myself. Next week we start some students back. We have about 20 seniors that are in danger of not graduating, so they’ll be starting back next week. Some of their teachers will be there. But when they are in classes that their teacher isn’t back in the building, as well as even part of the class time when they do have a teacher there, they will be sticking them in the library to do their virtual learning. So again, not just me and my co-librarian even. And on top of that, on Tuesday we have all of our 10th graders or 11th graders? coming into the building as well, to take the ACT. And on Thursday, we have to do a make up Pre-ACT for all the 9th graders to be in the building to take a test. I was supposed to get my second vaccination shot on Thursday, but will probably have to wait till Friday since I’m going to be one of the test proctors the whole day.
I got three new physical books this week. It was payday last weekend, and I might have gone a little bit overboard and bought three, although one of those hasn’t arrived yet.
I’ve already read Kiss My Cupcake, but I had a coupon for Barnes & Noble to use, so I decided to use it on that. The other book I’d already ordered. Gaby Triana is an author I’ve enjoyed her books in the past. Plus she does ghost writing, so I paid her to help me by rewriting the first two chapters of my YA novel to help me out. While I am not completely using what she changed, because some doesn’t fit exactly how I see one of my main character, other stuff she did definitely helped me.
I won a copy of an ARC or actually finished copy of this book from the new imprint Sterling Teen. I can’t wait to read this one! Had to find a spot to fit it into my blog schedule, but look for a review soon!

Wow, purposeful power outages, that sounds weird. I totally love to get new books when it’s pay day (which is tomorrow for me).
I was fortunate enough I didn’t have my power go out, but my parents did. It was only supposed to last for an hour or two, so that was good. Pay day used to be bad when I worked at the bookstore because that was every week with that paycheck, and then I’d go work and yeah, spend it. lol. Thanks for visiting!

Up until now when I’ve gone in to work I’ve been alone in the library pretty much, so I didn’t have to wear it. Not looking forward to the all day thing now. Oh well, guess that’s the Covid life now. Thanks for stopping by!
Good luck going back to working with people in person again. I kind of like the approach your school is taking by brining in the kids who need it most. Is it me or is that guy on the Kissing & Telling cover everywhere lately?
Yeah, we’ll see how it goes. I had a dentist appointment today, so missed out on the first day back with kids, and I guess only 13 seniors came back. And they spent most of their day in the library, so not sure what good that is doing them. Oh well. Hmm, he does look kind of familiar! Thanks for stopping by!
Having a couple legit snow days sounds awesome. Sorry you’ll have a lot more people at your work this week though. It would be a weird adjustment if you’re used to not having to wear a mask while working. I hope it goes well!
