What is the Bastard Bachelor Society?
It’s a gentleman’s club—like the dignified men of the past used to have.
Except, we’re not gentleman, and we’re not dignified.
We’re ineligible bachelors; bored, jaded and not looking for relationships. Quite the opposite actually…
We’re so committed to being single, we’ve created a high stakes bet to see who can remain single the longest. Rules are involved. Prizes.
Laugh it up, but I’m no loser.
Enemy number one to my single status? My irresistible neighbor, Abbott Margolis. She with her evil cat Desdemona, and Sexy AF pencil skirts. She’s kind and beautiful and hilarious. We can’t get involved, no matter how much her meddling grandmother pushes us together. But if I was going to lose this bet for anyone? It would be for Abbott.
Let’s face facts: I’m a bastard, unwilling to settle down. Especially when there’s a bet to win.

My Review:

At first I was a little unsure because of how the beginning spent setting up this BBS, and I had expected that bit to be done differently, or maybe already established before the story started. But the whole discussion as they were setting it up, and a bit tipsy at the time was full of some hilarious banter, as I have come to expect from this author.

I loved both Abbott and Brooks. I also love how the author may have used these names like Brooks Bennett, but she also had the characters make fun of or even just point out how ridiculous those names are. But the whole family and background issues were a big part, but not so much that they took up the whole story. I liked that really we got to concentrate on the relationship. And their relationship was the perfect blend of friendship as well as the sexual tension that was so high. I loved their joking about sexual things like the bib for blowies. Plus we had Abbott’s grandma who was the perfect meddler and instigator for them. At the end I liked how Brooks figured out what he wanted, and the fact that it took him the time it did was realistic to me.

Finally, there was the cat. Now if you know me, I’m a dog person really, but I do love any pets. Especially when an author makes them so much of a character in a story that they get their own chapter or two. Like Desdimona did. It reminded me a lot of the Wallbanger series by Alice Clayton and that cat’s chapters.

I look forward to more books in this series, I assume we will get both Phillip and Blaine’s stories. Now, I’m guessing Blaine might be with Bambi, but have no idea who Phillip will end up with.

Google wasn’t any help. But I guess BBS means Bad Boy Story. These boys sound bad, so very bad! But I expect she can tame him!
