Synopsis
Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?

If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife.

Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.

But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.

So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.

The only question is, will she accept?

My Review:
Now, technically I already read the e-book of this when it first came out this past summer, and loved it. And when I signed up to review this audiobook, I was thinking it was actually going to be the second book in the series, which I was unable to fit into my review schedule, so still need to read.  But anyway, listening to it, I still loved it, and I’ll share my original review below.  The story definitely lends itself well to an audiobook. The only issue I had is that I do not like the male narrator’s voice.  To me, the voice sounds like an old man, not at all like a young, college-aged athletic guy.  And I had so much trouble listening to him read the parts for Knox.  I almost would have preferred listening to just the female narrator doing her male voice for him.  That would be my only complaint probably.  Now, here is my review of the story itself from when I read this summer:

Okay, I
love that the basic meet-cute book in this book is the author’s favorite
thing, a boob squeeze.  I loved so much about this book!  The main
character Emory is a library/education major, that was me!  And the lady
she does her internship with sounds just like the lady I started my
first library job with, who I nicknamed Maxine, like the comic character
on Hallmark cards.  This book had me laughing out loud so much!  There
were the gifts they sent each other over their Christmas break, and just
the running gag of the bet of who gave in and asked to have sex first.
But even them having to try to be strong to win the bet and not having
sex still gave up some pretty sexy scenes!  Now, the author did
something towards the end of the book that totally reminded me a bit of
another of her series last year, the Blue Line series.  I won’t
give it away.  You need to read this if you love sexy, funny NA sports
rom-coms.  Now, I feel like the whole locker room superstition came into
play at a much different time than I’d expected due to what it is.  But
that’s okay, it makes it so different than what you expect!  I loved
this, I don’t know if I can say it enough.  I also like how even though
they had such a rough bit to go through to get together in the end, the
way they dealt with those issues was so perfect.  Pretty sure I want my
own Knox Gentry.  His snarky, sexy flirting comments make him someone
I’d love to have to myself!  He might be my latest book boyfriend.
