What’s wrong with my butt?

She means those words to be directed toward the woman beside her, not him. But he can’t stop himself

from answering. Not when her ass is the most magnificent thing he’s seen in his life.

Apparently, answering her with ‘not a damn thing’ wasn’t what she was expecting.

She likely wasn’t expecting the baseball she took to the face at his next at bat, either.

All it takes is one ill-fated foul ball, and George Hoffman, Lumberjacks center fielder, falls head over

heels in love with Wrigley Field—and yes, that is her real name.

From that point forward, George and Wrigley fall into a fast whirlwind love that ends with them eloping

to Vegas. And he has his potty mouth, titty bar owning, pain in the ass grandmother to thank for it.

Not that he’s complaining or anything.

Who wouldn’t want to be married to a woman that made his heart race like he was in the final game of

the World Series?

The only problem is trying to convince her of that.

This is going to be a hard review.  You see, I LOVED the first book in this series, Pitch Please, and this second book had me hooked right away.  However, the romance/story moved really fast, and before we were even halfway through, it took a really, really sad turn.   And then, it just seemed to keep getting more depressing!  So many bad things happened to George and Wrigley, I had a lot of tears with this one.  In the end, they still got their HEA, but it was an emotionally wringing story.  I’m glad I read it.  I really did like George.  But Wrigley’s family, especially her brother, well he sucked. And her sister, well, it was hard to decide on her. Because when I say it felt like it moved pretty quickly, there were some parts of the story that we only got a quick retelling from the characters about what went down, and I think I’d have liked to have that more fleshed out in the story.  If you enjoy sports romance, especially with hot baseball players, you need to read this series.  Just prepare to cry with this one.

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 8, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.

  1. It sounds like even though you did enjoy reading this one it also took a lot out of you emotionally. But it sounds like a really good regardless and like the series is one worth it as well 😀
