Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Books from 2017 I Wanted to Read But Didn’t

Posted January 9, 2018 by Lisa Mandina in / 30 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is sponsored by The Broke and The Bookish.

This happens every year. There are books I’m so excited about, but then I either don’t get the ARC, or run out of time to get to them because of other review books.  So here is a list of the top 10 books I didn’t get to last year, but had been so excited to read.

1.

3.

I actually got started on an e-galley of this one, but wasn’t able to get it finished due to review obligations.  ๐Ÿ™

4.

Even though the author thought there would be ARCs of this, there were not, so I just didn’t get a chance to read it, still need to buy it.

5.

6.

The final book in a trilogy, there were no ARCs.  But then with all the political things, I had a hard time reading all of his posts, they were so negative and so I just kind of lost my taste to read on in his series.  I’ll finish at some point, but for now, it’s on the backburner.  The second book had actually strayed quite a bit from what I’d loved about the first one, and had turned into the second book which is the usual road trip.

7.

8.

Well, I got an ARC of this through books for trade on Twitter, but while I got started reading it, again, because of review obligations, I didn’t get to it.

9.

No ARC, so no copy  of it yet.

10.

I had the e-galley of it, and thought I was on a tour, so I had it on the schedule to read. Then I realized that I had never received anything about the actual tour dates, so checked the tour site and saw that I had not been picked to be part of the tour.  So unfortunately, my disappointment kept me from fitting it in.  ๐Ÿ™

What are some books you planned to read in 2017 that you didn’t get to?

  1. All The Crooked Saints and When Its Real are ones I want to get to this year and possibly Crave The Mark. I'm kinda iffy about picking up Perfect because I enjoyed Flawed but I don't know if I actually want to continue the series.

Carve the Mark was on my list too, but then my co-blogger Chelsea joined our TTT post and I had to get rid of 5 eeks lol! Here's hoping we both love that story when we pick it up and thank goodness for the final book coming out soon, yay!

    • I seem to do that with Stiefvater books, I want to read them, know they will be so good, but then don't pick them up right away. Plus, I didn't get an ARC of it, so didn't have it to read early. Thanks for visiting!

  3. I got All the Crooked Saints when it released but just ran out of time to read it in 2017. It's definitely on my TBR for this year, though. Denton Little's Still Not Dead was also on my reading list for last year; hoping to get to that one in 2018, too, lol.

  4. I'm extremely interested in reading All the Crooked Saints, even though I haven't had the best luck with Maggie Stiefvater's other novels. Freeks is the only one I actually own and it's definitely a priority when it comes to which books I want to read in 2018. The one I was dying to read during 2018 but didn't get to is Lion Heart by A.C. Gaughen. It's the last one in a trilogy and it's been sitting on my shelves for years so, fingers crossed I'll finally read it soon! Hope you have a wonderful week!

    • I have loved all of Stiefvater's books, but for some reason take a long time to get to them. Freeks is another one I can't wait for, I love her books as well. You should join the Series Ender challenge, I do that with the last books all the time it seems! Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I haven't read any of your books listed however, Amanda Hockings Freeks has a nice cover but I don't like reading about Circus' and judging by the cover Freeks has to do with the circus. I don't think I can handle it.

    • Oh, really? I loved the Shiver series. I end up loving all of her books even when I'm not sure I will. I hope for sure to get to it this year. Thanks for visiting!

  6. I also really need to read All the Crooked Saints this year! My friend has a copy so I might need to borrow it off her, because I need more Maggie Stiefvater books in my life. Great list – I hope you get to all of these ๐Ÿ™‚
