Sunday Post #87 and Stacking the Shelves January 7th, 2018

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s
a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is
coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here:
Sunday Post Meme
.  So, I don’t think I’ve participated in this since last spring.  But I feel like it was important to take part in these weekly memes.  I liked keeping up with what was going on in my blog and checking in with others.

So, I’m on track with my Goodreads goal, I’ve finished reading 5 books already. Although a couple were actually started last year.  I’m really liking the calendar I came up with to use this year.  It keeps everything perfect in it.

There’s a monthly calendar where I can keep track of all my tours and other scheduled posts.

For each month I’ve got a listing of what needs to be read by certain dates, along with a list of books that still need reviews, and then a list of the books I finish that month that I add as I finish them.

And finally, there is a page that I can keep track of all the e-galleys that are available on Netgalley and Edelweiss.  I am trying to improve my Netgalley percentage, and this way I know if I can get it or not, and decide if I will get to it and should download or request it.

The only issues is that I’d like to have a couple extra note pages in it somewhere, and I can’t find the filler pages that fit it.  It’s weird.  I guess I can just use some regular notebook paper, or try to hole punch the note pages I can find so that they fit.  I’m still working on that.   I’d like to have a page to keep track of my challenges on, as well as one for other tour related notes and such.  But it’s got a fun kind of cover that I’m enjoying adding bookish and other fun stickers to.

It’s kinda late on Sunday night, so I’m not going to recap most of what happened this past week on the blog, other than I will link you back to my one review post:  Eight Audiobook Mini-Reviews

Coming up this week on the blog:

  • Reviews:  Crazy Sexy Notion
  • Promos:   Always on My Mind by Ali Parker, Searching for Gertrude by D.E. Haggerty, Author interview with Tawny Stokes – Lions and Tigers and Boys, Cover reveal:  Caution on Ice by S.R. Grey, and Musings of a Gossip Queen by Victoria Bright
  • Can’t Wait Wednesday – maybe

If you noticed on my blog planner above, I have four books that need reviews, so I will try to get a couple of those done this week, since I don’t work at the bookstore at all.  However, I am going to try to go to a writing group on Monday night.  I’m trying to find one to participate in. Since I lost my one writing partner, and my other one is kind of busy right now, I need something more regular to keep me writing.  So we’ll see how that goes.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.  Again, it’s late, so I’m just going to share the pictures below.  No links or anything.

This was a discard from the high school library where I work.  It’s one of my favorite movies/books, so I had to grab this one.

The top 4 are stripped cover books.  The bottom four I bought.  Lots to read!

I like doing this weekly to help me keep track of what all I am adding/buying.

What did you add to your shelves this week?  How is your week going, and what are you looking forward to?

    • I'm working on it! So far, so good! It's so much thinner than the others I had, but yet it has almost everything I need in it! Good luck with your bullet journaling! Thanks for visiting!

  1. I love your calendar! I really want to figure out some kind of kind calendar to track my reading but haven’t figured it out yet. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

    • I've been trying out new calendars for a few years now. I think maybe I've got it right like I want it, and this is one I can just change out the pages inside for the new dates, so should be perfect! Thanks for stopping by!

    • I have to do a physical planner for some things. I'm just a paper and pencil kind of person. But for others I prefer a computer! 🙂 Plus, Excel and I don't always get along. Thanks for visiting!

  2. Five books already? Congratulations!!! 🙂 That's a great calendar/planner – the Harry Potter stickers are adorable. May I ask where did you get them? *.* I wish I could keep a planner – I feel it would made my life easier (I really need more organization in my life).

I hope you enjoy your new books.

    Happy readings!;)

    • I got the Harry Potter stickers at Barnes and Noble. They have so many extra things now to buy at the store! I totally need a planner in the rest of my life, but only have it for blogging. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Wow! I wish that I was as organized as you are! I use the google calendar to keep my blog organized, but I always have liked paper ones. Have a good week! 🙂

    • I have to stay this organized or I tend to forget things. I still forget occasionally. I need the paper organizer, it just works better for me. Thanks for visiting!

  4. I'm not sure that I like NetGalley. I rather like getting my free (kindle)books from FreeBooksy or from the library because it frustrates me that I even have to be chosen or wait for some ARC that I don't even know I'll like. And anyway Canada doesn't seem to have the same priority as Americans. I am not big on planners either. I mean I read books for pleasure so there is no point getting stressed over it. I mean no offense because we do what makes us better. Enjoy your week in books. I hope to see you on the next STS and Sunday Post:)

    • I guess I'm lucky that I haven't had issues in a while with having to wait for the Netgalley approvals. I get what you're saying though. I pretty much read for pleasure too. If I am not enjoying something, then I don't read it. But I do post a lot to help author promote, even if I don't read their books, because I know other people might. Thanks for stopping by!
