Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings to spotlight
and talk about the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read.
Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on
Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. My pick this week is one that I have been anxiously awaiting a cover for so that I could finally share it as my Wednesday pick! It won’t come out until a couple months after I get to meet the author at Apollycon, but that’s okay. I’ll be able to gush to her about how excited I am for it! I first discovered this author with her book Nuts, and I picked it up because I loved the cover. It’s so funny. And when I listened to it, I loved it. And then the book after it, Cream of the Crop, and from there on, I was hooked on her books. Anyway, here is the blurb from Goodreads:
Clara Morgan is living the dream, if you can call rebranding hotels that are desperate for a new life and running any kind of marathon a dream. Which she does. But the career she loves and the endurance races that keep her adrenaline pumping have kept her too busy to put down any roots. Growing up in foster care, she’s never been able to establish traditions of her own, which may be why she’s fascinated by the rituals that generations-old family resorts are known for. She’s especially interested in the Bryant Mountain House, and not just for their secret recipe for the yummy, gooey, can’t-get-enough-of Hot Cross Buns….
Archie Bryant, the man with the Buns, is fifth generation and one-day-owner of the charming yet run-down Bryant Mountain House in Bailey Falls, New York. He’s determined to save his family’s legacy from the wrecking ball the old-fashioned way—by gritting his teeth and doing what needs to be done. There’s no way Archie will be influenced by the new hotel branding expert his father brought in to turn one hundred and fifty years of tradition on its head just to attract a faster, younger, slicker crowd. But when some of Clara’s ideas start bringing in new, paying customers, Archie can’t deny that she may have just given him a shot at keeping his resort open.
It’s sticky, it’s messy, it’s sweet, it’s Buns.
I love this town, these characters so much. I can’t wait to get back into this story. Although, I think it will be the last one in the series, and I’m going to miss them all so much!
What book are you eagerly awaiting this week?
I need to read this series by her, the audiobook sounds like it would be great!
This series is so much fun. The hilariously awkward things that happen. There's a scene in the first book where the heroine is running from bees. There's a scene in the second book where the heroine just jumps out of the car and tries to run away so she won't have to talk to the hero because she's embarrassed he's seen her, but she runs in among cows and I can't even describe just how funny it was. I mean I was driving in my car laughing so hard!
Ooo, a book 3! Since you loved the first two books, I hope you enjoy this one just as much, if not more 😀 Have a wonderful rest of the week, Lisa!

I have just loved this series so much. Cannot wait to read more! Although I'm pretty much sold on anything by Clayton at this point. Thanks for stopping by!
That title and the cover totally cracks me up! I haven't heard of this series, but this one sounds charmingly fun. 🙂
Tressa @ Wishful Endings
This author is the best at titles. Her other series is all named after alcoholic beverages, like the first one is Wallbanger, so a drink, but also kind of naughty sounding! Thanks for visiting!
Oooh! Sounds like an awesome book! Love the cover!
Here’s my WoW!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog
She's one of my favorite authors. And the covers are all just so perfect! Thanks for stopping by!
I just saw this one on another blog! I was telling her that I've not read anything by Clayton but I definitely plan on changing that. She has so many books written so I have plenty to choose from. 😉 I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!
Have a wonderful week, Lisa. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Alice Clayton is one of my favorite authors ever now! I'm excited that I'm supposed to be assisting her at Apollycon on the Saturday event. I would suggest starting with Nuts, it is the one I started with and fell in love with. Thanks for visiting!
