I’ve really gotten into the rock star romance stories lately. This one is a little different because instead of the whole band like is usual for these stories I’ve read, we just have one guy, as the title says, he is a pop star. Think Justin Bieber, only sexy, and not crazy. And this rock star, he had such a great sense of humor, and I really liked his character.
Our two main characters are Knox, the sexy pop star, and Libby, who is the daughter of a former rock star who is in jail for tax fraud. Thanks to this financial disaster, Libby has to get a job in order to be able to continue as well as finish her college degree. Fortunately, she still has contacts from her father’s career, and is able to get a job as an assistant to a musician, which turns out to be Knox.
Knox is known as quite the playboy, manwhore, whatever you want to call him. He likes to party, and he doesn’t seem to care about much else. The first meeting is really horrible between the two, leading to Libby begging for any other job. But she has to keep the job, and soon Knox comes to not only rely on her, but he also wants to convince her to give in to the attraction that both of them so obviously feel.
Both of them have secrets that they end up sharing with the other one. Libby ends up having to go on tour with him, when Knox insists he needs her there to keep him organized. Something she didn’t know was going to be a part of the job. Of course she can only go until her next semester of classes start.
The friendship is fun, and Knox’s methods or ways that he tries to convince her to give him a chance are also quite imaginative. When Libby realizes that she is probably going to need her vibrator on the tour to help her deal with her sexy new boss, she writes it on her packing list. When she goes over to help Knox pack, because he insists he can’t do it on his own, her packing list falls out, and Knox sees it. She of course is embarrassed he’s seen this list. He uses what he’s found on this list to play a pretty good prank on her. One that I still keep chuckling about as I think about the book.
Honestly Knox really is a pretty good guy, even with his last girlfriend, you find out the reasons why he looks like he wasn’t, and really it isn’t his fault. This is a great book, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good romantic comedy, especially with sexy musicians.
