Waiting on Wednesday: Riveted (Saints of Denver #3) by Jay Crownover

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming releases that we’re eagerly awaiting.  When I get the author’s newsletter last week with the sneak peek at the cover for this one, I knew it would be my WOW for this week.  And of course, I just met the author this past weekend.  Squeee!!!!  If you haven’t read any books by Jay Crownover yet, you totally need to!  Anyway, here is the blurb from Goodreads:

Everyone else in Dixie Carmichael’s life has made falling in love look easy, and now she is ready for her own chance at some of that happily ever after. Which means she’s done pining for the moody, silent former soldier who works with her at the bar that’s become her home away from home. Nope. No more chasing the hot as heck thundercloud of a man and no more waiting for Mr. Right to find her; she’s going hunting for him…even if she knows her heart is stuck on its stupid infatuation with Dash Churchill.

Denver has always been just a pit stop for Church on his way back to rural Mississippi. It was supposed to be simple, uneventful, but nothing could have prepared him for the bubbly, bouncy redhead with doe eyes and endless curves. Now he knows it’s time to get out of Denver, fast. For a man used to living in the shadows, the idea of spending his days in the sun is nothing short of terrifying.

When Dixie and Church find themselves caught up in a homecoming overshadowed with lies and danger, Dixie realizes that while falling in love is easy, loving takes a whole lot more work…especially when Mr. Right thinks he’s all wrong for you.

I’m so excited for this next story in this world.  My only fear is that I may need to read this one instead of listening to the audiobook this time, because I don’t think I’m going to like the male narrator’s voice.  It probably is perfect for the guy, but it isn’t the type of voice that works for me to pay attention or understand what is being said in an audiobook.  But I will be reading it for sure!  I can’t wait to see the outside viewpoint of the last two stories that we will probably get with this one, as I assume it will be going on around the same timeline as they did.

What book are you eagerly awaiting this week?

    • Same here. I'm guessing the voice would fit the character perfectly, but I just don't know if I can listen to it and understand it for the story. I'm sure I will love this when I get it though! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This sounds like such a fun romance! I haven't heard of this author before but I will have to check it out. IF I'm going to read a romance, it has to be a series!

    • Her romances are all pretty much solved in one book, but then each book you get to go back to friends and characters in the books from before. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I've met her, but haven't read anything by her yet. Sounds like I'm missing out! I love audiobooks, but get so mad when the narrator sounds different than I want it to! Great pick!

    • Well, I'm thinking the voice probably works for the guy, but it isn't a good voice to listen to. You need to read her books, they are so good! Thanks for stopping by!

    • You should totally read her books! She is so cool, and her books are definitely very steamy! I can't wait for this next chapter in the series, although I'm not sure the characters are ones I'm as excited about. Thanks for stopping by!
