.  Not sure when the being busy is going to end, but it’s still there!  And I didn’t get one review a day written, so I’m still behind.  🙁

Last week on the blog:

I got my two reviews for the week in.  I had planned to do my discussion post this week, but didn’t get to it, so I’m planning it for this Thursday.  I did my exercising like I should, so yay!  I also got to the movies this week, finally saw The Secret Life of Pets, and also went to see the new Star Trek movie.  I went in and worked with my new co-librarian on Monday.  It sounds like we have a lot of the same ideas, so I’m getting very excited for next year.  I got to go to the Royals baseball game on Monday night and it was a blast!  They were losing, and then, come the 8th inning, they brought it back!  It was so exciting.  I still insist that I probably need to be at the home games as a good luck charm to help them win.  They didn’t win Saturday  night.  They did win Friday night, and while I wasn’t at the game, I was visiting my grandpuppies over near the baseball stadium.  I’ve told you about my grandpuppies, right?  My male dachshund, Argyle, is still used by his breeder once in awhile.  Well, this is his second litter, and they were actually born on the same day as his first litter last year.  Here’s a picture of me with one of the puppies.

Isn’t he adorable!  🙂  Of course it is still pretty hot outside, so I’m ready for hopefully some cooler weather and getting to see him and his three siblings play outside.

Coming up this week on the blog:

  • Promo Posts:  We Awaken by Calista Lynne, The Architect of Song by AG Howard (Review and Giveaway), Wax by Gina Damico (Review and Giveaway)
  • Reviews:  The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater
  • Waiting on Wednesday
  • Cover Characteristic:  Schools
  • Discussion Post:  DNFing books
  • Maybe Beach Reads in August Giveaway Hop

I’ve put my 3 days of walking on the calendar to make sure that I get them all in.  I also need to do some writing, but I know that this week I need to get into my library and get some stuff done!

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.  I did okay with physical books.  I only bought one, but got three others.  Ebooks, well, you’ll see.

Physical books:

I won both of these from Jennifer L. Armentrout in a giveaway on her Facebook page.  I have to finish reading the Covenant series first.  I’ve got books 3 and 4 on their way from The Book Depository.  I decided I wanted the white covers.  🙂

I got this as part of the books for trade on Twitter.  I haven’t read this author yet, but she is going to be at NOLA Story Con when I go in September, so I should give her a try before, right?  And then have this to get autographed?

I found this at Half Price Bookstore this weekend.  It’s the next book in this series that I need, although I will probably listen to it as an audiobook.  I will eventually want to own all of them I think!  Just in case I ever get the chance to meet the author.  🙂

E-galleys:

Both of these are from Edelweiss.

Free or Cheap Ebooks:

All of these I got from Amazon for the Kindle app, except the last one is for my Nook.  But I didn’t realize that Masque is the second book in a series.  Grrr.
Free e-books/galleys:
All of these were given to me by the authors, either for review, or for signing up for their newsletter.
So, those are the books I got this past week.  What did you add to your shelves? Virtual or physical?

  1. Cute puppy! So adorable! And a nice big book haul…sounds like a good week all in all! I hope that I will be fully operational with new computer by next weekend and can get back to normal blogging!

    • Definitely was a good week. Hope you are up and going with your computer. I just realized I may be able to purchase my own laptop in a couple weeks, and stop using my work one! Woohoo! Thanks for stopping by!

    • I love my little grandpuppies! 🙂 So many books, I have really got to stop! I keep thinking that surely I've found all the free ones, and then every week, boom, there are more! Thanks for visiting!

  2. It's been hot and hopefully will cool down soon- just a bit. I have so many movies I want to see and haven't been to the theater in ages- glad you got to see a few. I've heard Star Trek is good even though I was skeptical of it.

    Have a great week!

    • I was excited to find it on Edelweiss. Can't wait to get to it! My grandpuppies are the sweetest little things! I wish I lived closer to the breeder so that I could play with them more. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I haven't been by in a while, so I'm gad that everything is good! *waves hello*
The puppy is absolutely cute, and precious, and adorable in all ways. I am so jealous that you got a copy of Wintersong! I hope that you enjoy it. 🙂

    • I'm trying with the gym. We'll see just how well I can keep up once school starts again. I'm so behind on reviews. I enjoyed both the movies I saw this week. I recommend them both! Thanks for visiting!

    • The funny thing is that I just did a trade for it, and at the same time I got an email from the publisher wanting to give me an e-copy of it to read. So now I'm really excited for it. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. That puppy is just too cute. You got a lot of great looking books this week. I'm not exactly sure why, but Max is something I think I want to read. Not my usual type book, but hey, why not think out of the box. I swoon every time I see the cover of Wintersong.

  5. How was the new Star Trek movie? My Miguel keeps threatening to take me to see it, but I know better. We'll watch it as soon as it comes to video, we rarely ever go to the movies.
I love the cover for Wintersong. I hope you enjoy all your new reads. Have a great week!

    • I liked it, although a lot more action than story. I love to go to the movie theater. At home I tend to read or play on my phone and not pay attention when I try to watch a movie. Thanks for stopping by!
