Synopsis:
Life altering reality, hidden in plain sight.
Ralph has a problem. The Grand Council of Atlantis, the council who rules the twelve hominid tribes, has chosen his apprentice for him. This unusual move has one obstacle. She doesn’t know what it means to be Atlantean.

Cerita Guzman is the oldest child in a struggling, single parent home. She doesn’t have time for world shattering reality to interfere with life. She has work, school, siblings, her mom, the house and now, of all things, Atlantis wants her time too. How is that even possible?

James has lived among the homo-sapiens, on the surface, for most of his life. He’s training though, to serve his people in Atlantis. His heart is torn when his master knight requests him to bring in the young woman selected by the Grand Council to train with him. She’s in a lot of his classes. She’s beautiful. She’s human.

When Atlantis calls, he listens.

As Cerita resists the call to serve Atlantis, James must find a way to help her accept the truth about the world around her, about herself. He does. He forces her to activate her internal nanites. She’s forced to accept whole new hominid species exist. If that’s not enough, she’s also forced to accept she’s one of them, when her nanites come to life, and she opens a wormhole into space.

Join Cerita, James, and Ralph on the first adventure into the world of Atlantis. Knights of the Immortals is a Young Adult Scifi – Adventure that’s loved by readers of all ages. Knight’s Apprentice is free. Download it so you can start reading it today.

Author Interview:

1.  What does your writing process look like?  Do you know the whole story when you start?  Or do you just start writing and go with it (seat of the pants writing)?  If you plan it out, how do you do that?  Outline, note cards, post-it notes, etc.?

Each time I sit down to a book, I know how it’s going to end. That’s the extent of my planning. While I do a lot of research, revision, and notetaking along the way, the stories themselves play out as I’m writing. It’s so much fun to discover what the characters are going to do on the next page, in the next scene, or even paragraph. Things shift so fast to me sometimes. I can be giggling about someone’s silly behaviour one moment and ready to cry at their loss a few minutes later.
2.  How do you come up with your ideas for your stories?

Each story comes from a different place. For me, they often come in a form that I know it’s a series instead of a solo story. Then each aspect comes as we move toward the end of the series. In the case of Knights, it’s the end of the ‘season.’ Each ‘season’ is six books long, maybe seven. There is one main background story that builds in each book as each book tells a more focused story. By the time we reach ‘the end’ the season is fully fleshed out in a rollercoaster of fun.
3.  How long have you been writing?

I’ve been a published scifi author since 2011. Of course everyone talks about how they started writing as children. I can say the same, but truly found my driven passion in writing as an adult. I find writing is therapeutic and enjoyable. Once I realized that I could create unique worlds, writing took off. Xarrok, my first series, initially came to life in 2002.

4.  What tips do you have for aspiring writers?

Three top tips
1 Finish the book before looking back at anything. Get it done. Get it edited after it’s done, not during creation. Finish it.
2 Never doubt that You Got This There will be haters, keep going anyway.
3 HAVE FUN! That’s what all of this is about, doing something you enjoy doing.
5. What’s made Knights of the Immortals challenging?

A lot actually, but the most challenging is the fact the primary setting for this series is a contemporary setting instead of a space setting. Now, with Knights there are multiple planets our characters visit or can be assigned to, and that gives my confined, creative muscles a little break. My favorite world so far is one we haven’t visited in Season One (the first six books of the series). But it’s one of the first planets that our characters will see in season two, as Cerita will be going to see one of her friends there. I’d tell you more but that would be cheating. 😉

    • I think that's why one of the stories I got the farthest on during NaNoWriMo the first time I really did it, still isn't finished. I have an idea how to end it, but not the actual events. Thanks for stopping by!
