Waiting on Wednesday: United (Alienated #3) by Melissa Landers

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming releases that we’re eagerly awaiting.  My choice this week is the final book in a trilogy that I joined into a bit late.  I only listened to the first book in the trilogy, Alienated, just last year, and then shortly after that I listened to the audiobook of the second book, Invaded.  Now, I love these characters, I want my own alien exchange student like Aelyx!  And I can barely wait until August for this final book, to find out just how all of the issues will be solved, and how Earth will be saved.  Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

After thwarting a deadly coup and saving the alliance between their worlds, Cara and Aelyx have finally earned a break. Their tiny island colony is everything they dreamed it would be―days spent gathering shells on the beach and nights in each other’s arms.

But the vacation is short-lived.

The treaty between Earth and L’eihr has awakened an ancient force that threatens to destroy them all. The Aribol, mysterious guardians charged with maintaining interstellar peace, deem the alliance a threat to the galaxy. They order a separation of the races, decreeing humans and L’eihrs must return to their own planets within the month or face extinction. In fact, they already have agents in place on Earth, ready to begin.

With the clock ticking, Aelyx and Cara assemble a team of colonists and race back to Earth, where they unite with old friends to solve the mystery of who the Aribol are, what they want, and the real reason the alliance has provoked them. As tensions build to a full-scale war, Aelyx and Cara must fight harder than ever―not just for their future, but for the survival of both their worlds.

I love that cover, other than the fact that it doesn’t look like Aelyx on there, the hair color is wrong!  I’m hoping that’s just a color issue until the final print of the book.  So that is my most anticipated book this week. What are you waiting for?

  1. Final book already?! I need to start this series soon! I know. I know. It's not OK!

I love how you went technical with the cover! They should know better because us readers can easily notice things even to the minute of details. There's a word for it but I lost it. LOL. I know it's somewhere in the dictionary. Anyway, thanks for sharing this book! You can check out mine here.

    • I'm just hoping that there is a reason why the cover is like that. I can't believe it took me so long to get the series started either! Thanks for stopping by!

    • Invaded was really good, but a little hard to read since Cara and Aelyx aren't together for most of it, which was sad to me. Thanks for visiting!

  2. Omgosh, i just had a bookgasm. I had no idea that the newest Alienated cover was out. They are all so gorgeous. I'm gonna have to go on goodreads and add this right now. I haven't even read the other two, but ive been wanting too badly. lol. Great choice & thanks for coming by my blog. 🙂

    • I know! It is beautiful, other than I'm not sure if that is supposed to be Aelyx or not Oh now, you've got to read the others, they are so good! Thanks for returning the stop!

  3. I felt so-so about the first book in this series, but everytime I see the follow-up books I always think that maybe I should give this series another chance to see if it gets better. I do like the whole scifi plot. Thanks for stopping by my WOW!

    • I loved the first book sooo much! You might give it another try. The 2nd one is maybe more scifi with going to the other planet. Thanks for returning the stop!

    • That's true! It's nice when that happens, since as bloggers we often start with the brand new series before the first book is even published! Thanks for returning the stop!

  4. I still need to read the second book but I read the first and then the novella. I really hope this is everything you are hoping it will be!

  5. I hadn't heard of this series–thanks for introducing me! The cover of this one makes the book seem really intriguing. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  6. I've been meaning to pick up this series forever, so don't feel too bad about just starting it last year! LOL It looks great and I hope you enjoy this series finale! I hope they fix the haircolor for you–I hate when the cover doesn't match the characters!

    • Glad I'm not the only one behind on some series! 🙂 I hope that is just a mistake on the hair color, but I wonder if it will mean something to the story and isn't a mistake. Guess I'll find out when the book comes out! Thanks for visiting!

  7. I haven't started this series yet, but it's on the list! I'm glad you're enjoying it and that you're invested in the characters. Great WoW — thanks for sharing 🙂

  8. I always thought this series was a duology for some reason. now I know that it's actually a trilogy! Well, that cover is indeed gorgeous and I hope this one will be wonderful too.

  9. The cover is awesome! I don't know if it's the hair color so much as she seems to look younger on the newest book.

  10. OMG, what an AMAZING pick, Lisa!! I have the first book of this series, which I have yet to read….(*feeling frustrated*) But, of course, I WANT to read this series!! It's just that there are SO many books I want to read!!! GRRR!!

Thanks for the heads up! And thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on my WOW!! BTW, I LOVE your new header! SO cute, especially with the angel dog!! 🙂

    • I know exactly what you mean about too many books and not enough time! There are so many series I want to read. I was lucky and listened to the first two as audiobooks, so will try to do the same with this one! Thanks for returning the visit!
