The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s
a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is
coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here:
Sunday Post Meme
.  Another busy week.  Even though my plan is to post less, so far it’s not happening.  Of course part of that is because I signed up for tours and stuff last November when my plan was to post every day of the week.  I’m working on not doing that anymore.  Anyway, here is what you might have missed:

Last week on the blog:

My blog seems to be back up and working.  I’m trying my best to get to all the comments and then returning comments on other blogs.  However, I’ve found that checking the box for “follow up” comments leads to so many that aren’t necessarily replies to my original comment.  So not sure if I’m going to continue that.  Can’t really add the time it takes to scroll through and check them all for that.  Had some issues around the house.  I’ve got a toilet that isn’t constantly running, but is running a little bit every so often, so it’s got to be fixed.  And now I also figured out that my icemaker isn’t making ice!  So I’ve got to figure that out as well.  I use ice in just about every drink I have!  Especially ice water!  And I have a crushed ice thing on my fridge, and now I can’t get that.

Coming up this week:

  • Rainbow Blitz for Shade Me by Jennifer Brown – my favorite color orange
  • Waiting on Wednesday
  • Blog Tour and Author Interview:  Lightning Kissed by Lila Felix
  • Blog Tour and Review:  Shallow Graves by Kali Wallace
  • Cover Reveal:  Elementals #2:  The Blood of the Hydra by Michelle Madow
  • Cover Characteristic:  Moons
  • Review:  Will to Survive (The Rule of Three #3) by Eric Walters
  • Possible Reviews:  The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey (Audiobook), The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd

I also started a new egalley this week that I’d been so excited and surprised when it showed up on Edelweiss, but as I started reading it, unfortunately it didn’t quite grab me the way the first book in the series did.  So I will be DNFing Burn by Elissa Sussman.  I loved the first book, Stray, but what I loved about that book hasn’t really been in this book, so I have to move on.  There was another egalley that was good, I did like, but it is one I want to actually have the finished book to read.  So I will be doing a quickie review on Netgalley as part of my Netgalley challenge, and write those types of things about it.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.  Well, it’s obvious I’m not on a book buying ban, although I only bought a few of these.  And I also have still been good about not opening the free ebook emails.  🙂

Books purchased:

My purchased books are all ones that were on the new shelf in the humor section at the bookstore where I work.  I have the Arrested Development  Mad Libs, but when I saw these two, The Big Bang Theory and New Girl, I had to have them as well.  The third book is called Tinder Nightmares.  I’ve only dabbled on the Tinder site, but when I opened up this book, it got me laughing almost as hard as the Damn You Autocorrect books do.

Bookmail from author:

I had recently won a copy of another book by Michael Phillip Cash, which is still sitting on my TBR pile, I need to get to it!  But then it was awesome when this package arrived in the mail this week with a couple of his newer books.  I’m really excited about The History Major.

Books for trade:

Some awesome books for trade here!  I need to go post on Twitter a thank you with the twitter handles of the people I traded with so that people can see who are reliable traders!

Other physical books:

I won A Madness So Discreet from Natalie at Book Lovers Life.  The other book, Remember to Forget is an ARC I picked up at the bookstore where I work.  It will probably go on my books for trade pile until I can get to it.

Ebooks won:

I won these two ebooks from the author in her stop on the Young Adult Faeries and Fantasy Giveaway Hop.

I did get a few egalleys this week, but I keep forgetting to make a list, so I can’t remember which ones they were.  Grrr.

That’s my week.  What did you add to your shelves?

  1. I hope you are able to get your icemaker working again soon! We've got a toilet that just started running on and off that needs looking into as well. I have a copy of The Witches Protection Agency, which I am looking forward to reading. I hope you have a great week!

    • Such first world problems I know. It's just like everything seems to pile on at the same time. Will have to check out your review of the book and see what you think! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Such a great list as usual! I especially can't wait to read your review of Remember to Forget. I'm hardly accepting any review books at the moment and it's getting tougher and tougher to go without book mail, so I purchased a bunch of books I can't wait to read.

    • I am trying not to request any review books. But I don't want to turn down ones that publishers are starting to send me without me requesting. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I actually went through a lot of my books yesterday to get rid of things. Books are overtaking my house! I still have a lot to go through though, so we'll see what I find. haha I don't think I've added anything new – just trying to get through some review books at the moment.

Sorry about the DNF, especially since you liked the first book.

    • Oh, getting rid of books. So hard to do. I am actually occasionally going through older books in case I might have an ARC someone might want to trade for a book I want, but that's about it. I love my books! They make me happy. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. It takes some time to slow down doesn't it? We have to request books from publishers so far in advance that they're still coming in when we've decided to cut back!!!

I don't do many blog tours and cover reveals and don't participate in challenges. I'm trying to keep my own blog as a place of 'fun' rather than commitments… if that makes sense!

    • I'm doing my best right now to just skim the book tour emails I get and only sign up if it is a book I already know I'm going to read. I like the challenges, helps me stick to reading books on my TBR shelf. But yeah, I am not going to let it overtake my fun reading! Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Cool prize pack, I love prize packs with swag. 😀 😀 😀 I adored Vengeance Road! So happy that you're having successful trades. I'm still looking into Persuasion for you, with a trader. I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Lisa!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a wonderful week. 🙂

    • It is awesome to get swag! Of course I have less places to store that compared to my bookshelves, so a lot of times the swag goes out in my trades with other people. 🙂 Thanks so much for trying to get Persuasion for me. That is so nice of you! And you totally inspired me to do a one sided trade with someone. They didn't really have anything I wanted that bad, so I went ahead and sent the book they wanted and told them to just pay it forward and maybe do the same kind of trade for someone else! Thanks for returning the visit as well!

  6. What a fantastic haul! You've won quite a few — congrats! I'm most curious about both History Major and Witches Protection Program by Michael Phillip Cash. 🙂

    • I find the more giveaways I enter, the more I win! I love it! Sometimes I donate the book to my school library first, and then I'll go back and check it out after it is all cataloged. I'll be sure to let you know what I think about those two books!

  7. I use the ice maker on my fridge all the time, I'd be so upset if it stopped working. Hope you get yours sorted! Enjoy your new reads, good selection to pick from 🙂

    • Right now I've got to clean all the food out of the freezer, which needed to be done anyway, and then I can use the hair dryer on the ice machine. Thanks for stopping by!

  8. I had a similar issues with a book this week. I liked the first book because it was fast moving and tension filled…but when I went to book two it was overdosing on so much detail and repeating the same things over and over, and I got so bored that I abandoned it. I hate it when book two doesn't live up to expectations!

    • It's sad when that happens. I felt the same way. I couldn't connect to the characters, they were side ones from the first book. And the environment wasn't at all the same, so I just got bored. Thanks for stopping by!

  9. The Big Bang Theory and New Girl Madlibs look awesome! I wouldn't have been able to pass those up. Vengeance Road is on my TBR. It sounds great and I just love the cover. Have a great week!

Looks like you got a pretty good haul this week. Vengeance Road always looks interesting to me. The cover is incredibly eye catching. I hope you have a great reading week!

  11. I hope you get your ice maker fixed. We use ours a lot and at one point it was leaking and formed blocks of ice. We love our drinks with ice so it just didn't feel right until we got it fixed lol. You got a great book haul this week. I'll have to try the book trade once I organize my books. Have a great week!

  12. Glad to know you're able to work through blog things! Hopefully those house related issues will be able to get solved as well. As for the books, I really liked A Madness So Discreet so I hope you can enjoy it too! Also, Vengeance Road and Zeroes sounds promising! Both are on my TBR.

    • I'm looking forward to getting to Zeroes, but it's soooo long! It may have to wait until either spring break or summer. Very excited for the others as well. So far the house issues are still just that. But oh well, I'll have to figure them out! Thanks for visiting!
