The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s
a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is
coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here:

Last week on the blog:

I got three reviews done last week, could actually have been four if I hadn’t had the Book Blitz and Cover Reveal to do.  But 2 a week is my goal, so I’m definitely meeting that.

For my TBR Pile Reading Challenge, I didn’t get anything read this past month.  Good thing I was three books ahead last month.  I only got one book for my COYER Summer Challenge, so I’m behind on that already.  For the Book Blog Bingo I got N:  a book that takes place in a school by reading:  Exorcising Aaron Nguyen.  Those are my updates for my challenges.  For my Goodreads challenge, I’m way head!

This week on the blog:

  • Reviews:  While You Were Gone by Amy K. Nichols, Ghostlight by Sonia Gensler
  • Possible Reviews:  Bleeding Earth by Kaitlin Ward, Chasing Secrets by Gennifer Choldenko
  • Waiting on Wednesday
  • Book Blitz:  Silverwood by Betsy Streeter
  • My 6th Blogoversary!!!!!  Stay tuned for a giveaway to celebrate!
  • Sign ups for my 4th Annual September is for Sequels Challenge and Giveaway sign-ups.

I had 12 people besides myself who signed up for the September is for Sequels Challenge last year.  I hope to have the same or more this year, here is the link to last year’s post if you want to see what it is:  http://misclisa.blogspot.com/2014/08/3rd-annual-september-is-for-sequels.html.   I did the Giveaway Hop with I Am A Reader last year, not sure if she’ll participate again as I know she’s not doing as many hops these days.  But I will find out before I get it set up.  Maybe I can get Bookhounds to co-sponsor.  Guess I’d better go start planning!  Meetings for school start this week, so I’m guessing my reading time will fall way back. Especially the staying up until midnight reading.  🙂

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.  I had a pretty good week.

Physical Books:

The top three are all books I purchased.  Couldn’t wait and enter contests for Every Last Breath, although I may not get to it until September as part of my sequels challenge.  I also got a cool coloring book.  And finally, I get to go to New Orleans for the first time in September, so figured I’d probably better get a more clear idea of what I want to do, besides go to see Marie Leveau’s grave.  I won The Wrath and the Dawn from Emily at Follow the Yellow Book Road blog.  The last book, Until We Meet Again, was a surprise ARC I received in the mail from Sourcebooks!  I also won a couple contests this week, from a blog, and also a Goodreads giveaway.  And I did a couple trades on Twitter for the #books for trade. But none of those have arrived yet, so I always like to wait until the book is in my hands.

Netgalley:

I’m finally getting around to reading The Walled City by this author, which will go to my TBR Pile Challenge, but am excited to get approved for this World War II book.

Free e-books from Amazon:

They sounded good, and they were free, so I grabbed them.
Oh yeah, and I got this cute bookmark!

  1. Nice haul! I still haven't read The Wrath and the Dawn. I really need to. I'm really intrigued by Wolf by Wolf, it sounds very interesting and unique. I'll DEFINITELY be doing September is for Sequels! I desperately need to get to a whole bunch of them. I read so many awesome books then I end up anticipating the sequels but never have time to read them. I'm looking forward to continuing and finishing up some series!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    • I can't wait to read it. Although just because I have it now doesn't mean I'll get to it right away unfortunately! So glad to hear you'll be joining into my September Sequel challenge! That's the main reason I started it, so many series I needed to continue, but I kept starting new ones! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. So many great books! I'm very curious about The Wrath and the Dawn and Jennifer L. Armentrout is an author I really need to read. Happy 6 year blogoversary and have a great week!

    • I know, I just can't wait until I can get to it! I probably won't get to Until We Meet Again until closer to its publishing date though. Thanks for visiting!

  3. 67%, that's awesome! Congratulations! And congratulations on the six-year blogoversary! I loved The Wrath and the Dawn, and that minion bookmark is the cutest 😀 I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fabulous week 🙂

  4. Congrats on being ahead of schedule for your Goodreads challenge! I am a bit behind still, after my reading hiatus to finish my thesis.

So excited to see your Blogoversary post!!

Thanks for the shoutout, I can't wait to read your review for The Wrath and The Dawn, I've heard great things.

    • Ah, the thesis is a good excuse to get behind on reading. if you're done though, then maybe you'll have time to catch up! Check back on Tuesday! Not sure how early I'll get it put up since I'll be back in school meetings. Going to try to get it all ready tomorrow so that I can have it go live Tuesday morning. Thanks again for the book, can't wait to read it!

  5. Awesome haul yourself! I'm dying to read The Wrath & The Dawn. And Until We Meet Again looks really good. Love the bookmark! I'll have to think about September is for Sequels. Can't believe September is only a month away…

  6. Nice haul. I love the book mark. Ya for 6 years blogging. That is great! You are doing well on your reading challenge. I think I'm only one book a head on mine. Eee I may not make my goal this year =/. Happy reading.

  7. Awesome haul! I am so excited for Until We Meet Again (what an amazing surprise, too!) and Wolf by Wolf! And I LOOOOOVED Wrath, so hopefully you will too! And wow- 6 years?! That is so, so impressive, HUGE congrats! Hope you have a fabulous week/August!

    • Don't you just love the surprise ARCs? I can't wait to read Wrath. If I didn't have such a list of egalleys to get through, I'd read it right now! 6 years, and it seems to get better each year! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  8. The Wrath and the Dawn is a book I also have and I am so excited to break into that one! It's such a beautiful book itself. And I am also hoping that you will enjoy your books. This six year anniversary is a really big thing!

  9. Have fun in New Orleans! I've been a few times, pre-Katrina, but haven't been back since. I'll think about signing up for September is for Sequels. I joined a Series Ender challenge this year and I'm pretty sure I'm failing hard so this would tie in nicely with it.

    • I can't wait to go. So excited to see it and experience it all! I love to do more than one challenge when they match up and I can use the same books for them. Hope to see you when I get it all set up!
