The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s
a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is
coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here:

.

Last week on the blog:

My mini-reviews are going pretty well.  It was nice having them all done for this past week ahead of time.  Later today I’m going to try to get all of them done for this week.  It was nice realize that I’m halfway done with the challenge as well.  As much as I’m enjoying being a part of it, I don’t always do some of the other memes I do because of it, and I do miss those.

This week on the blog:

  • A to Z Challenge:  Q-V posts
  • Review:  An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
  • Review:  The Replaced (The Taking #2) by Kimberly Derting
  • Possible Reviews:  Of Shadow and Stone by Michelle Muto or Be Not Afraid by Cecilia Galante
  • Trailer Reveal:  Hold Me Like a Breath by Tiffany Schmidit
  • Cover Reveal:  The Gatherers by Ashley Ehlers

I’m trying to sign up for less tours that I have to review the book, just because I have so many e-galleys to read I’m not getting to books I have sitting on actual bookshelves!  I only work one night at the bookstore this week, so hoping to get a lot more reading done.  I’ve got a few e-galleys I downloaded from Netgalley that I’m going to just give a quick feedback on as I had trouble getting into them, and that will hopefully help bring my percentage up on that site.

My Fit/Walking Goals:
I’m trying to work on getting back into shape, and I am a walker.  I’ve got a Fitbit and so I’m using the steps on that until I get better/more time to walk.  I’d like to get back to my 20 miles of walking a week.  For now I’m walking when I can, and trying to get about 10,000 steps a day.  Starting next week I’m going to post a daily update of steps on this post, as well as how many miles I walked.  My 20 miles a week is separate from how many steps I get a day. While those steps from the miles count towards my daily step goal, the normal daily steps don’t count towards my 20 miles.  Does that make sense?

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.

HI, my name is Lisa, and I’m a bookaholic.  (I’ll pause while everyone reading says “Hi Lisa”).  I sometimes can’t believe how ridiculous I am about books.  It’s like a serious addiction. There is no way I will ever get to all the books I have sitting in my house to read, yet I keep adding more!  Anyway, here’s the past week’s additions.

Physical copies of books:

-->
I checked the first one out from the library.  I've seen the sequel's egalley up somewhere and it reminded me that I'd wanted to read the first one.  Hope to get around to it.  The 2nd one was a strip cover from the bookstore, and I don't like this cover as much as the hardcover one, but it may make more sense for what it is about. And I found the third book at Half Price bookstore for less than half price, and I really need to finish that series! For Book Tours:

Free ebooks:

I haven't read either of these series, but this novella was free, so I thought maybe I'd try reading it and see if it got me interested at all in the two series.

E-galleys:
-->
Both are from Edelweiss.  I've still asked the publisher for a physical ARC of Persuasion, because I got an ARC of the first book last summer at BEA and would like to have a matching set, but we'll see what happens!
Those are the things I added this week.  What about you?  What are your plans for the week?  What have you added to your shelves?  And don't forget while you're here to enter my month long giveaway that goes with my A to Z Challenge below!

  1. So many great books this week. I've stopped doing Blog Tours, and am only trying to do 1-2 blog tours a month, because I need to catch up on my e-galleys. I have way too many, so I know the feeling. Great haul of books this week.

    • I know! I finished two books really quickly this weekend, so I'll get the hope that I'm going to get ahead on the egalleys, but then I'll probably end up with one that goes slow, or I'll be too busy to read and right back to feeling behind again. thanks for stopping by!

  2. Great books this week! I need to slow down on blog tours as well because my NetGalley count is getting scary but then I see notices for blog tours for really great looking books and all willpower goes out the window. I need to schedule a just say no month every once in awhile! Have a great week!

    • Same here. I'm trying to just sign up for occasional book blitzes so I don't feel bad when I do find one I want to review. I like the idea of a Just say no month! Thanks for visiting!

  3. I am a walker too, and eager for sunshine so we can venture out. Ah yes the ARCS. I am still ahead but my pre-posts have dwindled down to two weeks..I am hoping to build them up in May.

    • My pre-posts are kind of behind at the moment. Mostly because I'm spending my time getting my A to Z April posts set up. Once May gets here I'm hoping to get back on track with others. I've set my plan to try to get up and go early this summer with a friend that I didn't walk with in the past because it was so early in the morning. But I have to do it, and this will hold me accountable. Plus I might try a Walk, run, walk program again. Thanks for visiting!

  4. Nice haul! I know what you mean about NetGalley. My percentage is horrible. I need to go through and leave short "reviews" or let them know about issues with the eGalley. I've been putting it off. I should also make more of an effort to get to all the ARCs, too. I was actually saved the past two weeks by blog tours and cover reveals. I was so sick and couldn't get much done but I had scheduled posts to go up, thank goodness. I need to catch up now with all the books I've read while I was sick. Have a great week, enjoy your new books!

    • I need to do the short/mini-reviews if I can, although there are many of them I never got to. It is nice when you have the scheduled posts and are really busy. Thanks for stopping by!

I need to start walking more too, at my old job I did quite a lot in a day but after I lost it I just haven't. I need the motivation or something though.
I haven't really gone on NetGalley much lately, that percentage thing kind of drives my crazy to be honest.
You've got some awesome looking books, especially Illuminae! I'll have to check Edelweiss for it. 🙂
    Have a great week!

    • I have some days where I get more walking in than others, but as a librarian I never know what day that will be. Unfortunately I can't seem to help myself from checking Netgalley and Edelweiss daily. Thanks for stopping by!

  6. You got a lot of great books this week! I really hope you enjoy the Double Crossed novella. Ally Carter is one of my favorite authors, and I think Double Crossed is a great introduction to both of her series. Also, Illumine looks so good and I can't wait for it to come out.
I tried to comment here once before, and it didn't post. Hopefully this works!

    • I've read an Ally Carter adult novel, but none of her teen books, so thought this would be a good way to check it out. Your comment seems to have worked this time! Yay! So glad you visited me!

    • I tried to do that today. There are so many though that I downloaded, but then never even got around to starting. I'm trying to keep up with everything from now on, and stop requesting so many! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  7. Wow, nice haul… Ally Carter is a great author… I just finished All Fall Down and really enjoyed it. Lauren Oliver, Lynda Kang, Amie Kaufman, you did awesome with this collection. Enjoy Reading…

  8. Seeing Persuasion reminds me that I haven't read Compulsion yet. I was really looking forward to it but just didn't get around to it.

I love your blog design! You don't see many with orange. I like it!

    • You should get around to that! Maybe you can read them both at the same time. 🙂 Thanks for the compliment on my blog, orange is one of my favorite colors!

  9. Great book haul! Recently I also got a copy of Control and the sequel Catalyst from the publisher, so I am hoping that I will be able to dive in and enjoy them both. I am looking forward to it, and hope you like them too!
