Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming releases that we’re eagerly awaiting. This will be my first one of these for 2015!! Yay! The book I’ve picked is the third in the series by one of my favorite authors and Twitter personalities, Maureen Johnson. I really enjoyed the first one, but didn’t really care for the second one as much. I’m hoping this next one will get back to where I liked it. Here is the blurb from Goodreads:
Rory and her friends are reeling from a series of sudden and tragic events. While racked with grief, Rory tries to determine if she acted in time to save a member of the squad. If she did, how do you find a ghost? Also, Rory’s classmate Charlotte has been kidnapped by Jane and her nefarious organization. Evidence is uncovered of a forty-year-old cult, ten missing teenagers, and a likely mass murder. Everything indicates that Charlotte’s in danger, and it seems that something much bigger and much more terrible is coming.
Time is running out as Rory fights to find her friends and the ghost squad struggles to stop Jane from unleashing her spectral nightmare on the entire city. In the process, they’ll discover the existence of an organization that underpins London itself—and Rory will learn that someone she trusts has been keeping a tremendous secret.
Sounds like it could be a good one, hoping to catch right back up where book 2 left off. So how about you? What book are you eagerly awaiting this week?
I felt the same. I didn't think the second one was as good. But I'm willing to give this one a go. Thanks!
I am a big Maureen Johnson fan, and did love the first one, so will have to read on. Thanks for stopping by!
I haven't herd of this series or the author, but I will have to check her out. Thanks for sharing!!

She is a really great author, and a great Twitter personality as well. Thanks for stopping by!
I haven't read the first book of this series but I have it on my tbr. And this series is getting longer. Guess I should start reading it soon. Hope you'll enjoy this! 🙂

Maybe you'll read it right before this one comes out and be able to read all three in a row! Thanks for visiting!
Another great series I haven't had the chance to read. There are so many books I want to read but I never seem to get enough time to do that. I hope you enjoy this book when it comes out.

I'm a huge fan of Maureen Johnson, so I definitely had to read this series when it came out. But it's been too long it seems between this one and book 2, so I'm kind of impatient.
Hello 🙂 i have not heard of the series. And i do not know whether they are in german. It sounds interesting in any case.
Thanks for visit my blog.
bye Jenny
Not sure about that, that is an interesting question. So glad you stopped by and visited me back!
Hmm- new to me but sound like it could be a good one. Hope you get a chance to read it soon.
Just waiting for it to come out! Thanks for stopping by!

Have a fabulous day 🙂

I hope so as well. Thanks for returning the visit, and I hope you might get a chance to read this series soon!
Hadn't heard of this series before, great pick 🙂
Well maybe I've given you something to add to your TBR list! 🙂
I love finding new reads and haven't heard of the series before, but the author I'm pretty sure I have. Going to have to check Goodreads to see why she sounds familiar now. Nice choice and happy reading!
You'll have to give it a try! Thanks for visiting!
I'm not familiar with this series but it does sound interesting!
The first book was really good and had a great premise. Hoping for more of the same in this third book.
I hope this one works out better for you, Lisa! Maybe it was just a case of second-book slump! 😉
True, that second-book slump sure hits a lot of series. Thanks for stopping by!
I haven't read anything by Maureen Johnson yet! Hope you love this 🙂
Janhvi @ The Readdicts
You should give her a try, I love the dialogue of her characters, which if you follow her on Twitter, you would totally see how she can write that way. Thanks for visiting!
Yep yep yep, definitely reading this one! I read an ARC copy of The Madness Underneath and then it ended in one of the worst cliffhangers I have ever read! Now, TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATER, I will finally be able to get my emotions under control (I hope).
Oh yeah, it was a major cliffhanger! And I can't believe I've had to wait this long! I'd really hoped I'd get an ARC of this one last summer at BEA, seemed about time, but alas, no such luck.
Hope the book you're waiting for meets–and exceeds–your expectations. Thanks for visiting my WoW post.
I hope so as well. It seems like in 2013 there were a few third books in series that were disappointing, but 2014 seemed to be a lot of great endings! Thanks for returning the visit.
Ooh, this is totally new to me and I think I might have to check this out! It sounds really good!! Great pick, Lisa!! I hope you enjoy it when you get the chance to read it!! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my WoW @ Addicted Readers! 🙂
Hope you get a chance to check them out sometime, I do recommend Maureen Johnson's books! Thanks for stopping by.
I've never heard of this series, thanks for sharing and stopping by!

If you like YA paranormal types of stories, you should definitely give it a read. Thanks for returning the visit!
LE GASP. THere are more? I've still only read the first novel, I hope you get to read it (and enjoy it!)
The 2nd wasn't that great, but you have to read it because it definitely moves the story forward! Glad this was a good surprise for you! 🙂
Haven't heard of this book before, but it sounds like an interesting (and creepy!) series! Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for sharing (:
The first one was pretty creepy, and while there were a few parts in the second one, it wasn't as good, so I'm hoping the third book brings it back around. Thanks for stopping by!
