Sunday Post #15 and Stacking the Shelves November 9th, 2014

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s
a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is
coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here:
Sunday Post Meme
.   With NaNoWriMo going on, I kind of like this so I can recap that as well as what I did on the blog during the week.

Last week on the blog:

I didn’t get enough books read this week to get in my 2 reviews a week goal.  But this is the first week all year that I think this has been an issue.  So I won’t stress myself too much.  And part of the reason I won’t stress myself is because I’m pretty much on track with my NaNoWriMo novel.  I’ve got over 13,000 words as of Saturday.  So I’m pretty much on track.  One of the books I was worried about expiring actually was a Kindle e-galley so it is still on my Nook, and I’m almost done with it.  But, I have a book to review as part of a tour on Monday, so I had to put Girl on a Wire aside till I finish it.

This week on the blog:

  • Review of Shade by Cody Stewart
  • Review:  Girl on a Wire by Gwenda Bond
  • Waiting on Wednesday
  • Cover Characteristics
  • Top 10 Tuesday (If time)
  • Review:  ????  (Whatever book I pick after I finish the two above.

November is a seriously busy, crazy busy month.  I’ve still got to get in my NaNoWriMo writing to keep on track.  I will probably meet my writing buddy, author Michelle Sodaro on Tuesday and Friday nights for sure.  But the rest of the week will be on my own unless I have some time tomorrow.  Lots of excitement in the book world for me this week.  Monday night Maggie Stiefvater, Brenna Yovanoff, and Tessa Gratton will be in town and I’m going to go see them again and get some more books autographed.  Then Thursday night Stephen King will be in town and I’m going to go watch him in a question and answer type event.  Unfortunately it won’t be an autograph event.  Which makes me sad as he is an author on my bucket list of authors to meet.  Then deer hunting season (rifle) starts this weekend, so my step-dad, brother, and my aunt’s husband will be heading out of town on Friday night.  That means that Saturday is our annual girls’ shopping trip for my mom, my aunts, and myself.  And while I should be writing, or reading, I can’t miss out on it!  I’m hoping to go to the Coach purse outlet and maybe get a new purse if I find one I like in my price range.  And then of course I’ll be working at my part time job at Barnes and Noble Wednesday night and Sunday morning.  And on the 16th, we will have our annual holiday store meeting, which means I have to be there at 7 am!!!  No sleeping in for me until the 22nd of November.  🙁

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

  1. Congratulations on being on track with you NaNo writing! And YAY for meeting Maggie Stiefvater (again), Brenda Yovanoff and Tessa Gratton, I hope the events will be a blast!

    Happy reading!!

    • Of course then on Sunday I had no time to write and am a bit behind again today. I can't wait to see all the authors again, they are some of my favorites! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I wouldn't stress about not meeting your goal though I know that's easier said than done. I'm behind as well but am hoping this is the week I catch up! That's awesome you get to go to a Q & A with Stephen King even if you aren't able to meet him for autographs. Have a great week and enjoy your shopping trip!

    • I'm trying to not stress and just think about how I keep going. If I don't give up then I hope that will be all I need to complete it this year. Thanks for stopping by!

    • It is an exciting week! I can't wait for all the cool stuff. I am a purse lover as well. And I don't know if I'll spend the money or not, but it has been over a year since I've purchased a new purse. Thanks for visiting and I'll stop by your post as well!

  3. It looks like you have some really great reading ahead of you! Have fun! I think a day shopping with the girls sounds like a delightful way to spend the day 🙂 Have a great week!

    • I'm looking forward to the shopping, other than it is going to be really cold, we're really getting in some winter weather later this week. And the mall we're going to is an outside one. Brrrr! Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Nice haul! I keep wondering about The 100 and whether I should give it a try. And Android Karenina sounds very interesting. Hope they're all good. Here's ours! Here's ours: BiblioJunkies Happy reading and good luck with your NaNoWriMo! ~ Bel

    • I've enjoyed the tv show, so am now interested to read the books. I don't know if I'll get to the Android Karenina, but I will be donating it to my school library for my students. Thanks for visiting and I'll be sure to stop by your post as well!

Awesome goodies! I read THE 100 last year, and I liked it, but didn't love it. I'm really curious about the TV show. I heard it's sooo much better then the actual books! I want to read the second book, DAY 21, I have a copy for review, I think I might up it on my review list! Great books this week Lisa, I hope you enjoy them all! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my STS @ Addicted Readers! 🙂

    • I really enjoyed the tv show for the most part. I figure I'll give the books a try as well. Plus I can donate them to the high school library where I work. Thanks for returning the visit!

  6. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sometimes I don't know why I participate in Stacking the Shelves since it makes my wishlist grow and grow! I've heard good things about The Girl Who Read the Stars. I hope you enjoy it.

I've just started watching the tv series of The 100 and wondered whether I should give the books a try too.

Oh wow, you are so very lucky to go to an event with Stephen King, he's one of my all time favourite authors. I can't wait to read his new book.

    Good luck with NaNoWriMo 🙂

    • I didn't hear great things about the books, but like the show, so I will give them a try. I can't wait till tomorrow to see Stephen King live!
I'm continuing to work on NaNoWriMo, so far I'm doing better than I have any other year I think.
