So let me just say that I failed miserably this year in my goal to read 12 books, which is the same number that I set for a goal last year, even though I only got 8 last year. This year I only got 6 sequels read.
Here is the list of the 6 I got read with links to their reviews:
- Unmade (The Lynburn Legacy #3) by Sarah Rees Brennan
- Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi
- Asunder (Newsoul #2) by Jodi Meadows
- Sever (Chemical Garden #3) by Lauren DeStefano
- Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse #12) by Charlaine Harris
- Light (Gone #6) by Michael Grant
I did end up finishing some series that had ended a while back, but still, I only reached half of my goal, and didn’t read as many as last year. So to make up for my sadness about this, I thought adding gifs, because how much fun is it to look at Supernatural gifs all day, would help. Another awesome thing to help me feel better about how this year went is that I got 12 people besides myself to participate, including some who participated last year!
And the winner of my $20 gift certificate to Amazone/Barnes and Noble/The Book Depository was of my return participants, Pili @ In Love With Handmade.
And in the end, thanks to all of you who participated. I really hope you got some books read from your TBR pile, and I also hope to see you next year. The gif above is for the people listed below:
Tressa at Wishful Endings
Crina at Reading Addict
Rebecca at Book Gremlins
Mel at Reviews in a Pinch
Monique at Mo_Books
Alma at Journey Through Fiction
Stacy Renee at Lazy Day Literature
Clare at Book and Lattes
Aleksandra at Aleksandra’s Corner
Jamie at Vailia’s Page Turner
Wren at Into the Written Word
Thank you so much for hosting this challenge, Lisa! I read some great sequels this month that I most likely wouldn't have gotten around to otherwise! 🙂
My Wrap-Up
Glad it helped you as well! Hope to see you back next September!
I really enjoyed tackling this challenge, thank you for hosting it. I only managed the minimum of 4 books but I'm OK with that. Congrats on your 6 =D
Yeah, it was a tough month this year. I'm hoping to at least get back to my 8 like I did last year when next September comes around. Thanks so much for participating!
Lol those Supernatural GIFs are perfection!
Even though you didn't meet your goals, congrats on finishing a few series! I'll have to join the fun next year, I think I can count the number of series that I've finished on one hand. o.O
Amber Elise @Du Livre
Yeah, it seems to happen a lot with series. If they aren't ones I HAVE to read the day they come out, like those in the Harry Potter series, or Twilight series, then they get set to the side until I have time or am in the mood. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Congrats on reading 6 sequels and for finishing up series you wanted to complete! I managed to finish 4 and I'm three-quarters through my fifth sequel right now. I failed on the review front though. I only managed to post three reviews. I had a weeks holidays in September, and I didn't get them all written up or finished in time. Oh well, there is always next year 😀 Thanks for hosting the challenge Lisa!
I think some of the participants had talked about not wanting to do the reviews right away, and I guess maybe next year I need to say that doesn't have to be done. Maybe the reviews are just extra entries into the giveaway. Holidays are often good for getting reading done, but not necessarily getting reviewing done! Thanks for participating and hope you're back next year!
To reach your 12-book goal you just need to choose thin books. Stay away from the 700-page monster novels >:)
Cold As Heaven
You are so right! Next year I must find the shorter sequels! Thanks for stopping by!
