Stacking the Shelves – September 28th, 2014 – The one where I get Blue Lily, Lily Blue

Posted September 28, 2014 by Lisa Mandina in Stacking the Shelves / 24 Comments

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.  And this week, well let me say that earlier this week, I had a moment like the new iPhone 6 commercial where the women all scream so high pitched they make the glass break.  Finally, finally, I got my ARC of Blue Lily, Lily Blue.

I got it at work, that’s where almost always have things shipped to me anymore because I know they will actually arrive.  And it was during a very busy time in the library, and there was no one really to share my excitement with, so I was doing the above inside my head.  If you’ve seen my last few STS posts, you know how badly I wanted this book.

E-galleys:

The first one was from Netgalley, the middle was from Edelweiss.  The third one I was so excited to see that I clicked request before I realized it was just the first 5 chapters in a sampler.  I don't like to read samplers.  I like to wait and read the whole thing at once.  Don't know if there will be a full blown e-galley available, or any ARCs, as this is the final book in a trilogy, and often they don't do them for that one.  So I have it, but I probably won't read it.  Will wait till I can get the whole thing. Free Nook Books:

These were all part of a set. Free Amazon e-books:
-->

They both sounded good, and as I said, free.  I really think I need to come up with a challenge for next year to read some of these free books I've downloaded.  If you know of anyone that already hosts something like this, something different than just a TBR challenge, let me know!

  1. I didn't realize they were sending out arcs of Blu Lily, Lily Blue. I totally understand why you are very excited. I won my copy from Maggie. I squealed too, but mine was out loud. I got Dear Rock star too. I really need to read more of my freebies.

    • I didn't think they were either, other than the ones that Maggie had. But when I was not approved for the egalley on Netgalley, I emailed and asked for it. And they sent it. Thanks for visiting!

  2. Yeah I stared at Ensnared for like five minutes trying to debate if I wanted to get it. I decided that I couldn't handle the tease (hence why I'm not reading Orphan Queen…at least not yet).

I like all these fantasy retellings, I'll have to make my way over to BN.com.

    • Yeah, now I feel bad that I've requested it. Hope they don't get upset when I don't really review it. Guess I could post why I'm not reviewing it in the space provided on Netgalley. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope all the retellings are good, they were free!

  3. You lucky duck! I hope you enjoy Blue Lily, Lily Blue! And it's a shame about Ensnared! I really don't like reading chapter samplers either and I can understand you're excitement at first when seeing the book (I have a bit of an obsession with the series).
I hope you enjoy all your books!

  4. Yay for Blue Lily, Lily Blue! <3 I think I've read about it somewhere and it does sound totally awesome. 🙂 Bummer that Ensnared is only a sample – hope they'll put the full ARC soon! Unlovely has such lovely cover – totally opposite of the title haha.

    Happy reading! 🙂

  5. hahaha YES the Dean gif ♥ and OMG YAY on getting Blue Lily, Lily Blue 😀 I was unfortunately denied a review copy but as soon as that bad boy hits the shelves, I am ON IT. You got a LOT of amazing looking books here, especially Ensnared and Unmarked! Happy reading ^^

    • I could sit and look at Supernatural gifs all day!! I was denied the review copy on Netgalley but emailed and basically begged them to either reconsider or send me an ARC. And I was rewarded! Thanks for visiting!

  6. YAY BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE! I got an egalley last week and screamed in excitement. It's gonna be so goooooood! I don't read samplers either. It just gets you all excited for something you can't completely read!

    I hope you've having a wonderful week!
