Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Books on my Fall TBR List

Posted September 23, 2014 by Lisa Mandina in / 36 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is sponsored by The Broke and The Bookish.

These are the 10 books I’m looking forward to most reading this fall.  Some are e-galleys that I have, others are ones that I can’t wait till I can get ahold of them to read!  And just to make it easiest on myself, no particular order to how I put them on the list.

1.

This is one I was soooooo excited to see on Netgalley, then two Fridays ago I was denied access by the publisher. So I dashed off a quick email to Scholastic Publishing explaining how I did meet all the things they said I needed to meet to get their e-galleys, and also explained how much I loved Maggie Stiefvater, and even had a picture I took of her in a biography book about her.  I got an email from that person two days later saying they would send it to me.  So, I’m hoping it will really happen.  Fingers crossed!
2.

I’ve got this as an e-galley.

3.

Since I finally got around to reading The 5th Wave earlier this year, I cannot wait to read the sequel!

4.

I did get an e-galley of this last spring, but I was lucky enough to get an ARC at BEA.  I’ll be reading it in a few weeks!

5.

I’ve got an e-galley of this one as well.

6.

This is another one I was lucky enough to get an e-galley of, then I also got an ARC of it.  So excited to read it!  I would actually have already read it, but it doesn’t fit into my September Sequels Challenge.

7.

I fell in love with this author after reading Broken.  I was so excited to see an e-galley of this one.

8.

This is one I had hoped to get from BEA, but didn’t.  Besides the beautiful cover, it just sounds so good!

9.

While I haven’t read Mr. Mercedes yet, I am so excited that Stephen King is coming to my town in November.  I don’t think he’ll be autographing, but to be able to be in the same room and hear him interviewed is pretty darn cool!  The price of the ticket to see him is the cost of this book, because I’ll be getting my copy when I go.

10.

I did get a copy of this at BEA, and got to meet the author, who I am a huge fan of!  So I can’t wait to get this one read.  Like the Scott Westerfeld book, because it isn’t a sequel, I’m  not getting it read this month like I’d planned.

So, those are my top 10 that I can’t wait to read this fall.  How about you?  Have you read any of these yet?  If not, are you excited for any of the same ones I am?

Oh yeah, and while you’re here, I’ve got two giveaways going on, just click on the buttons below to go to them.

  1. It was so hard to pick only ten books. I see I missed Afterworlds, which I plan to read this fall as well. I just posted a review of Made For You. I loved it! We're you in that huge line at BEA for Melissa Marr? I got in line an hour early and it was already huge. I just barely made the cut to get a copy. Five people behind me they cut the line and sent people away. I'm so glad I finally met her. I named my son after a character in her books (Seth). When I told her she gave me a hug and cried. I hope you get to read all the books on your list before fall ends!

    • It was really hard to narrow it down, and as I looked at other posts I saw many others that I missed! I wasn't able to get in line for Melissa Marr, the lines were always so huge that I ended up going to other ones that weren't quite as long. I've met her before, but really wanted that book. I'm jealous that you got a copy! Thanks for visiting and I'll return the favor!

  2. The Fall is also on my TBR for fall but I forgot to put it on my list. I will be reading it as an e-galley for next month and I can't wait. It sounds super good. Great choices!

    • Well, I haven't actually got Blue Lily yet. Still hoping that it works out! Maggie Stiefvater is one of my very favorite authors. I hope you love her books as much as I do! And I just have the last one in the Grave Mercy series, can't wait to finish it! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I read The Fall last weekend and it was really good 🙂 Cool that we both have Mortal Heart on our list! And I must start The Raven Boys this Fall. It sounds like a great book for the season.
Oh and I need to get Made For You soon. I love Melissa Marr.

    Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  4. I definitely want to read Revival. It looks so good! I've also got Stiefvater on my authors to try list. Great list! A lot of these are familiar to me but I definitely need to find out more about them.

  5. OMG YES BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE!!! I NEED that book in my life 😀 A Thousand Pieces of You and Afterworlds are also ones I hope I get to this Fall! I still need to get into the His Fair Assassin books but I just know I'll love them – I already own book one, I just need to find the time to read it xD Tha Fall looks great too, I hope you get to read ALL of these this Fall ^^

    • And I just got Blue Lily, Lily Blue in the mail today! I was sooooo excited! I know what you mean about finding time, so many books I want to read, but never enough time! Thanks for visiting!

  6. I can't wait to read A Thousand Pieces of You and The Fall! They sound so incredibly good and both have awesome covers. Made for You was pretty good! I hope you can get to read these soon!

  7. Well I know you saw Blue Lily Lily Blue on my list 😀 I hope the publisher sends it to you! And I just got The Infinite Sea at the library yesterday! I loved The 5th Wave when I read it last year (SO TENSE!) so I hope I remember enough of the story to jump right in. Really curious about A Thousand Pieces of You.

    • It was one of the things that made my BEA trip so awesome this year. Walking up to a publisher and asking for a book and having them be so nice about letting me have it. Thanks for stopping by and I'll be sure to check out your Top 10 as well!
