The Friday 56 #10

Posted September 5, 2014 by Lisa Mandina in / 28 Comments

This week I’m going to participate once again in Friday 56, sponsored by Freda’s Voice.  Here are the rules:

Rules:

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it) that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It’s that simple.

So here is mine for this week:

“Cherry blossoms die as quickly as they bloom, so one must always come with the proper clothes and the proper attitude to admire their beauty before they pass away  so quickly.  The great writer Motojirou-san said it best:  Sakura no ki no shita ni wa shitai ga umatte iru. (Dead bodies lie under the cherry tree.)

  1. I keep seeing a lot about this book, but I just can't bring myself to read it. I think I'd end up disliking it. I do love that cover though. It's so mysterious.

  2. What an eerie book cover! I'm reminded of the movie The Ring, which I had a dreadful experience with 🙁

Also, I tried to enter the giveaway but it looks like the registration timeline expired? I can't enter my blog :/

    • I think it might be a somewhat similar story, haven't started it yet though. Hmm, now I'm wondering about your experience.

For the giveaway there should be a rafflecopter to enter on. It's too late to enter for your own giveaway.

  3. I've been curious about this one because of the title and the cover. I'm not sure what I think of the excerpt. A little more poetic than I was expecting I think. Not sure if that's a bad thing but it's definitely different!
