This week I’m going to participate once again in Friday 56, sponsored by Freda’s Voice. Here are the rules:
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it) that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It’s that simple.
So here you go:
“Her eyes light up like miniature suns and I can hear Sam giggle in my head. I take a quick breath against the raw pain it brings. I can count on one hand the times I heard him make a happy noise like that. Sanda walks to me, grips my hand in hers, and nods.”

This sounds terribly sad. Did she lose her child? I'm not sure I could bear to read this book if she did.
Here's the link to my Friday post: MADE FOR TWO.
Actually the main character had a younger brother named Sam. "Had" is the way I'm going to put it. It is a very sad, very tough read I think. But somewhat inspiring at times.
Oh goodness! Where is she headed!? What happens next!? Such a somber introduction; that's for sure!
It's pretty intense!! Thanks for stopping by!
Sounds like a would need too many tissues for this one.
I made it without tissues, but it did have some moments!
Sounds sad. I want to know what happened!
It's sad, but things do turn around by the end.
Did Sam die? Sounds like some loss was suffered.
Happy weekend!
You guessed it. Sam is a memory of Piper's, one that she strives to make up for his death.
Sounds like it might be too much for me to read at this time. But I may brave it later.
Here is my 56 – http://fuonlyknew.com/2014/08/15/the-friday-56-32-waking-the-merrow-by-heather-rigney-not-so-nice-mermaids/
It is intense for sure! But a definite good read! Thanks for stopping by and I'll check out your post as well!
She's happy that he's happy.
Kind of! Thanks for visiting!
This sounds really depressing! Thanks for stopping by my Friday 56 and Book beginnings
It is sad, but also a story of overcoming! Thanks for visiting me as well!
