Sunday Post #10 and Stacking the Shelves June 15th, 2014

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s
a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is
coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here:
Sunday Post Meme.

I chose to not just do Stacking the Shelves, but also a Sunday Post, because I may be missing in action for a bit on my blog starting this Wednesday.  You see I’m having a major surgery on Wednesday.  Not only is it kind of a big one, I’ve never had surgery before, so I have no idea how long it will take me to recover.  Plus, once I get out of the hospital I’m going to be staying at my dad and stepmom’s house for a few days or until I get to where I can take care of myself.  Which I’m hoping that by next Sunday I’ll feel that way.  So I’m hoping to post Monday and Tuesday for sure.  After that, there’s no telling when I will post again, by next week I’m sure though.  One thing I do hope to get done during my recovery time is lots of reading.  And while I normally try to review as soon as I finish each book, I may have a bunch of reviews all one right after another if I don’t feel like blogging, but get a lot of books read.  Plus this past week I’ve been kind of helping my mom out after she had surgery a week and a half ago, so while I’m hanging out at her house, I’m not really getting as much reading done as I’d like to, so that’s why I didn’t have posts every day this past week.

Last week on my blog:

This week on my blog:

I’m pretty sure I will have a review of the current book I’m reading either tomorrow night or Tuesday, and that is City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare, part of my Big Book Summer Challenge.  Not sure what I’ll post tomorrow if I don’t get the book finished by then.  And I may try to go ahead and do a Waiting on Wednesday Tuesday night, set to post on Wednesday, so that I get more done this week.  We’ll see how this week goes.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.  It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.  I didn’t do this post last weekend, so this will include everything for the past two weeks.

Received ARC from publisher:

YA Book Exchange:
Received from authors I met standing in line at BEA (not requested):

The first one is a dystopian, so I’m very excited about it. The second one is fantasy, so we’ll see how far I get with it when I get a chance to get to it.

E-galley from Netgalley:

Free e-books:

So the last was a set that was free(still is as of today, go HERE), and includes:

One or two are ones I will probably never read, but who knows.  Several sounded good, and hey, free!
So, those are the books I added to my shelves, mostly my Nook shelves, these past two weeks.  Did you add anything good this week?

    • Thanks! I've already learned I need to try to watch the Epic Reads Tea Time Wednesday afternoon. Hope that I can be out of surgery and get my laptop out at that time!

  1. Good luck with the surgery, I hope you won't have to endure the hospital food too long before coming back to your dad's house 😉 Don't worry, we'll keep an eye on the blog for you !

  2. Good luck with your surgery. I hope it goes well and your recovery is quick and painless. The Woman Who Would Be King looks interesting. I don't know much about ancient Egypt beyond what I learned in school, but I've always been interested in its history.

    • I'm hoping for at least a quick recovery, I know I'll be ready to get back to normal as soon as possible. I love ancient Egyptian history. Very excited to read it! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. The woman who would be King sounds wonderful. I added it to my Goodreads straight away. I'm curious about Andromeda I've never heard of it before but woot for more Dystopians. Great little haul! I hope you enjoy them all. Oh and thank you for stopping by earlier and sharing!

    • I'm excited for Andromeda as well. Hoping it is the first time a book I've been asked to read without me asking for it first, turns out to be as good as it sounds! Thanks for returning the visit!

  4. I pray everything goes great with your surgery and that you are up and at 'em in no time. But don't rush yourself. Rest as much as you can and read when you feel up to it! I look forward to seeing you back online soon. 🙂

    • Yeah, I think the most frustrating will be not being able to drive and things like that. I will just have to remember all the time for reading I will have. Thanks for stopping by!

    • Yeah, I'm sure I'm going to feel like I can do more than I can. And if not, I'll be frustrated that I can't do more. I'm going to just try to get lots of reading done. Thanks for returning the visit!

  5. I'm sorry to be so late with my comment, Lisa. Your comment on my blog got lost in my spam box. I hope your surgery has gone well. I've had several surgeries so I know it's no fun, but sometimes must get done. I hope you have a very speedy recovery and get lots of reading done, too.

    • I wonder what makes my comments go to spam? I've had other people tell me that has happened on their blogs as well. Weird. The surgery is done, and seemed to go well. Now I just have make sure I do what I need to do in order to heal. That is the hard part to me because I just want to get back to normal as quickly as possible.

  6. Ooh, looks like you had a great week! 😀 I've been meaning to read Julianna Baggott's series since the first came out. They sound so interesting, and the covers are gorgeous. I hope you enjoy all of your books!

    • I had an ARC of the first book by Baggott, and so hated having to wait so long for the sequel, well let's just hope I can jump right back into it. Thanks for stoppnig by!
