Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming releases that we’re eagerly awaiting. The book I’ve chosen this week is a final book in a trilogy. It was the series that was my introduction to reading the popular author Julie Kagawa. I got the first book at BEA 2012, and then was able to read an e-galley of the 2nd book. And I am now a huge fan of the series, and can barely wait till April 15th when the new one is published. Here is the blurb from Goodreads.com:
VENGEANCE WILL BE HERS
Allison Sekemoto once struggled with the question: human or monster?
With the death of her love, Zeke, she has her answer.
MONSTER
Allie will embrace her cold vampire side to hunt down and end Sarren, the psychopathic vampire who murdered Zeke. But the trail is bloody and long, and Sarren has left many surprises for Allie and her companions—her creator, Kanin, and her blood brother, Jackal. The trail is leading straight to the one place they must protect at any cost—the last vampire-free zone on Earth, Eden. And Sarren has one final, brutal shock in store for Allie.
In a ruined world where no life is sacred and former allies can turn on you in one heartbeat, Allie will face her darkest days. And if she succeeds, triumph is short-lived in the face of surviving forever alone.
Doesn’t it just sound so good? And intense? Now, honestly, I’m not a fan of the cover, wasn’t for the 2nd book either. I found the Australian cover, and it matches my original book’s cover, and I like it much better:
Isn’t that one so much better? And even the UK cover is a lot better than our boring US cover.
Doesn’t match any other covers that I have, but I still like it much better than the plain purple colored one.
I’ll be able to use this book to help me in the Prequels and Sequels Challenge I’m doing this year as well.
So, what book are you eagerly awaiting this week?
I love the first cover. I really like the simplicity and the color. I don't know much about the series, but the summary does sound like there's going to be a lot of action. I hope you enjoy!

I'm not saying the first cover isn't nice, I just like the others better.
I haven't started reading this series. I hope you enjoy reading this one.

And I found it on Netgalley last night too! Can't wait to read it now, if I get approved for it that is.
I actually like the plain cover too 😉 I've heard of Julie Kagawa's books before but I've never read any. This one sounds really interesting, especially the part about her creator and her blood brother.

I don't dislike it, I just like the others better. Thanks for stopping by!
I've only read the first book in this series but I love Julie Kagawa's other books 😉 Great pick!

First book was good, second was even better! Thanks for stopping by!
Huh, I should probably start reading this series. It sounds awesome! I actually kind of like the US cover, but then again, it's my favorite color, so I may be biased. 😉

I do love the color, just wish for more than just that. Thanks for stopping by!
I've been debating with starting this series for awhile and just haven't picked it up yet. I like the US cover but it is kinda plain and boring. =)
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Yeah, it's not that it is a bad cover, just kind of plain. You should definitely give it a try. There was a short prequel novella that is how I decided to finally pick it up.
I'd prefer the Australian cover too, since it'd match the covers of my Kindle copies of book 1 & 2! But the plain purple cover is also pretty.
I have an ARC of this, and I'm dying to have time to devour it!
So jealous that you have an ARC! I found it on Netgalley and am waiting to hear if I am approved!
I must admit I'm not a fan of the purple cover either. Ive only read the first one, but excited as means I can read these two together. Hope you enjoy!
That is nice! I read the first two at the same time, and then had to wait for the next one. I can't wait to read it!
