Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted at Pen to Paper Blog, in which we feature a book we can’t wait to get off of our wish list and onto our shelves! I normally participate in Waiting on Wednesday sponsored by Jill at Breaking the Spine, but the book I am talking about this week is one that isn’t a new book, not a new release. I’m a huge fan of Dean Koontz, and the Odd Thomas stories are some of my favorite. However, I am now 2 books behind because of a mistake my mom made at Costco a while back. Okay, I can take part of the blame too. She called to ask what the name of the new book was, and she gave me a title, but I wasn’t paying close attention, and I told her yes, but it was the title before. So she brought home the wrong one. But hey, she brought back a paperback, and she should have known the newest book would have been a hardback. But oh well. So, actually I’m going to feature two books this week, the two latest Odd Thomas books: Odd Apocalypse, and Deeply Odd. Here are the blurbs about these two books from Goodreads.com:

We sell a lot of Dean Koontz in the shop but I've never read any, I shall have to give one of his books a try sometime. 🙂 Cool choices!
If you do decide to give them a chance, either read the first in the Odd Thomas series, or else Watchers, Strangers, or Twilight Eyes. Those are my favorites and the ones I always recommend. Thanks for stopping by!

Would you believe I've never read a Dean Koontz book? The premise for both of those sounds really interesting. And I probably would have made the same mistake your mom did, had it been the other way around. If I'm in Costco and we're in the book section, my mom recognizes which Nora Roberts and Linda Howard books she already owns, but I'd totally buy her one, paperback or hardcover if it just looked new. Hopefully you'll be able to read these DK books soon though :).
The sad thing is that my mom reads Dean Koontz as well. But she usually counts on me to buy the new books and then she borrows them. So I guess it is a fair mistake.
You know, I have only read one Koontz book. Shocking I know. I am more of a King fan. Though everyone always tells me to read another one and give Koontz another go!

Stephen King is one of my favorite authors too! It was him first, then I was looking for a new book while waiting for a new Stephen King and found Dean Koontz and was hooked on him as well!
